I used to buy the silverstar's every 3 months or so, cause they would burn out, then you buy one for $20 and it looks way brighter then the older one. So I ended up going out and buying Silverstar Ultra's its been at least 6 months and never a issue. And I do think they shine farther down the road.
HIDs arent just bulbs. they are something i suggest everyone researches before diving into because it can be extremely dangerous on the roads if done incorrectly. (which is most of the time)
HID lighting is completely different to halogen, and needs to be focused and aimed (usually using a projector lens) otherwise you end up with so much glare that it actually physically hurts the eyes of oncoming traffic.
the stock halogens that come with our car, as far as halogens go....are actually pretty good.
I actually keep the silverstars as spares now so i cant really sell them. but after spending the money and seeing the mediocre improvement, i wish i hadnt bought them.
thats not to say silverstars are bad. but our stock halogens do well. and the improvement isnt worth the $$ IMO.

HIDs are a whole nother thing from halogen. halogen bulbs are just that, bulbs. HIDs are like a little lighting system. like stated above, really research them before even thinking of purchasing cuz it can be alot of money to buy them when you don't know what they do. in my opinion, HIDs are not necessary for the stock headlights they should really just be used for the projector headlights. if you want the whiter look i say whiter halogen are good enough without blinding other drivers.
JUST A NOTE TO ALL OF YOU
If you touch the bulb with your bare fingers the oil from your hands will get on the bulb. This will cause them to burn out quicker.
Why? Because the light will concentrate on that one spot, causing it to heat up quicker then usual, burning it out.
So when u install these, take some rubbing alcohol and wipe them down, they will last longer guarenteed
