Taking Apart Dash to Paint

So im in the process of getting the silver pieces off my dash so i can paint them. But what i cant figure out is how to get all the wiring unplugged from the buttons etc? I have the pieces off, but theyre just hanging there for now because i need to get the buttons out of them. How do i unplug the wires, and take the buttons out etc? Will it reset anything or should i be worried of it affecting anything? Because im going to take them out then put them together till the pieces are painted and let them be, then put everything back together. Will that be ok?

it won't affect anything. it won't reset anything, and there always seems to be some kind of clip you have to undo to get the plug out. play with it, its not too hard.

please, for the love of god, don't paint the stupid little passenger airbag off/seat heater bar. its bad enough that its there, but painting it, and still having the silver radio and hvac breaks up any flow it could possibly have with different colors involved.

the buttons are connected by clips get a flathead and unclip them, its a little frustrating at first because they are so small and you dont wanna break them. Youll get it eventually, just work with it. Nothing is going to reset, nothing is really going to happen. just unplug paint and plug it all back it. It will be fine.

I'm painting my to match my Imp Blue SS/TC so i dont think the silver will look all that bad, since it'll be blue/silver... i'll post it up when im finished, i have 2 pieces off already, just having trouble disconnecting the wires/buttons for the traction control and the dimmer/fog lights.
