My rear tail lights are LED's. They are these specifically: Sonar LED Tail Lights | Aftermarket Car Parts and Truck Accessories At Discounted Price

Should I bother getting new resistors if I'm getting the conversions? If so, what ones? Also, if I do need new ones, should I tap in to the +/- of the main harness or to a new ground to the body?

If the resistors you have work fine (on your tails) - leave them there. For the front, if the Type 2 is not functioning correctly - order the V3 Triton specific direct plug-n-play 2 LED conversion resistors. And NO, you shouldn't need to wire anything into the main harness.. the plug-n-play resistors are exactly that - plug and play. They don't need to be spliced in.

I didn't put any resistors in for the tail lights. They were built in to the assembly when I got them. I'm thinking to go with the 4 conversion to be safe. But if 2 will work, then that's fine. The cost will be the same either way.

Sounds like a plan. What LED tails do you have that have resistors built in? As far as I know, none come with them built in, not even IPCW...

Looks like the link from a few post up didn't work. These are the one's that I have: Spyder Auto | Chevy Cobalt 05-10 2Dr LED Tail Lights - Chrome

Hopefully that link works this time. If you look at the second image of the back view, i believe that the resistor is the with the two red/black wires with foil on top. I'd have to look at mine though.

Edit: Now I went an ordered them. That will be my gift to me for the holidays.

Someone will have to double check on the IPCW. It's been a while since I had the balt but if I'm not mistaken, the IPCW have inline resistors. A local balt owner has these, I'll check with her.

I had them before K2... unplugged the resistor that I wired in - got hyperflash. To my knowledge, IPCWs don't have inline resistors.

Might be a matter of where you get them as well, but IDK why that would make a difference since most vendors are just distributors of the parts.

I have the orange reflector just to stay legal... Other than that - no reflectors. Will post pics/videos when I get mine...

They said ETS is end of November. It's December already!

Inline would be nice, but that might take longer to design, make, and ship from the new release date.

That looks inline to me. Plug and play.

As far as the features, this is off their FB...

V3 Triton SwitchBack Update: In our quest to make the most advanced LED lighting system on the planet we've added a few key functionality features to the new V3 Triton SwitchBack. These new features are very complicated and as a result have caused an unfortunate delay to production. We felt it was very important to add these features now rather than later, especially for our customers who have pre-ordered.

New added Features:

• DRL Switching (feature 2)
• Optional 50% dimming to white LEDs when headlights are on (feature 5)

List of functionality features:

1. The low circuit (parking lights) has current, and there is no current on the high circuit (turn), only the white LEDs will come on.
2. When the high circuit sees constant current for more than 3 seconds (DRL mode) the module switches the output to the white LEDs.
3. When the high circuit is pulsed (turn signals) in any mode, only the amber LEDs will flash.
4. When the low parking circuit has constant current, high turn circuit has a pulsed current, white shuts off and only the amber LEDs will flash.
5. If the optional trigger wire is connected to the headlight positive wire, and the headlight switch is on, the white LED will dim by 50%.

Again we felt these additions to an already amazing product were necessary now rather than later. We feel overall it will be well worth the wait. We want to thank you for your patients and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. As a token of our appreciation we are upgrading everyone who has pre-ordered prior to Dec 1st to priority shipping at no extra charge. The new ETA for the V3 switchback is Dec 17th. Check our website V-LEDS.COM | LED Dome, Map, License Plate, Reverse, DRL, Turn Signal, Brake Lights as well as our Facebook page for further updates. If you have questions or concerns pertaining to your pre-order, please email us at sales@v-leds.com.

I'm fine with waiting the extra few days based on what they said. Maybe I'll see a credit back on my account too from the priority shipping since I paid extra for it. If they're doing this much more for the product then I rather wait over them adding features after the fact and having upset customers.

honestly i don't see how people would be upset with the previous plans but if they are doign these slight mods in a relatively short amount of time with 0 cost difference then why not. yes pre orders will be delayed but no one "needs" these... if its that big of a deal to someone then they need to go out find a gun and shoot themselves
