Want to replace headlamp bulbs, brighter

Hey guys, I just was looking for some help with replacing my headlight bulbs with something brighter b/c my stock ones just arent bright enough in my opinion. I dont want something that will blind oncoming traffic, just something brighter...especially my "brights" which dont seem to do much when i turn them on...thanks!

I have sylvania ZXE, they are really clear like a crisp white and are brighter than stock. got mine from my local advanced autoparts.

Those would run you about $50 and burn out within a year at most. With halogen, the brighter, the shorter life span. You could get PnP HID kit for around the same price, way brighter, but would blind oncoming traffic. OR, you could save the money and get a properly done HID projector retrofit. Most light output without blinding oncoming traffic.

Search the forum for HID retrofit using google, there are quite a few threads on that.

hope this helps.

lately i've seen a lot of retro's for sale on the forum. you can pick a good set up for 300 bucks used or so. I have had E55 retrofits on my cobalt for about 3.5 years now. best thing i've ever bought and i'm in the process of doing a quad retro fit on my jeep grand cherokee.

That sounds about right. thedude411, did you build your e55's from scratch or have someone else do it for you?

Can you post a link to your build? If you have one, that is... I don't want to completely jack the thread. ;-)

Or it could be helpful. People can give you useful advice. You could create one on hid planet or Jeep forum and then link it onto here... Either way, good luck with the build!

if you drive at night at all, it will be the best $300 you'll ever dump into it.

I have GE Nighthawk Platinum in the Cobalt and Cavalier. I would highly recommend them for replacements. I used to use Silverstar Ultras in the Cavalier, but since I switched to the GE's I will NEVER go back to them. I was lucky to get a year out of them (GE's are lasting longer in both cars), and when the road was a bit wet/shiny it seemed like they barely light up the road. I have rarely had this issue with GE's (which also seemed brighter than the 6 month old Ultra's they replaced). That has been my experience.
