Wet carpet
Wet carpet
Whats a good way to get my carpet dry on the inside of my car. trying to prevent mold and rust. When it rained here in Knoxville on Monday, the water got so high so quick i got a little bit of water in my driver side floorboard. I've tried using shop vac for about an hour or two. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
steam cleaner will suck it right up, either that or start removing that seats and interion andpul the carpet out and hang it. Then dry the inside after. Its quite labor intensive. LOL
thanks guys, i was pissed lol. but hey its just a car. It was almost up to the hood of my car. I had to push it out. The water was over my intake.

no, everything is fine. still runs great. just the carpet on the drivers side is damp. i didnt see puddles of water. i got to my car just in time. But there is a Civic si that did not fair as well. Cobalt 1 civic 0 lol. Ill get some pics up here in a little while. thats the worst flood i have ever seen. The civic actually floated onto one of the islands. The guy with the civic will be getting a new one though. I felt bad for the guy cause he was not there to move his car.

It's actually super easy to tear the carpet out. I had a door leak and took mine out to dry. Took me 20 minuites. Unbolt and take out the front seats. Unbolt the center console just so that you can lift it up, pop off the side plastic pieces by the door jams that are just clipped in and the back seat is just clipped in as well. And bam pull the carpet out. Comes out in one big piece. But OP if you want a super easy way, stick a dehumidifier in you're car and close the door. It doesnt have to be right shut. And let it do the work. My buddy works at a collision center and thats what they do with cars that have flood damage. Works great.
