What a dealership told me....
I sent a local dealership an email asking why i could not purchase recaro seats for my '05 SS. I was just sorting out my options for new seats and i really like the SS recaros seats that come in the g85 package. Here is what the dealership emailed me back...
"Thank you for your inquiry.
There is no way I can tell you that the Recaros will fit your vehicle. In the same breath, however, there is no way I can tell you they won't fit. I agree with your premise that the vehicles are virtually identical and the seat should fit. You also need to investigate if there is any difference in the positioning of the seat beat and the type belt used. The '06 SS seems to use the pyrotechnic pretensioner type belt. You might want to be sure yours does also. As there is no direct listing for the Recaro seat in your vehicle I doubt there will be anyone willing to take the liability of installing a non-specific seat.
GM does not offer seat assemblies. You would have to build one from the ground up. A quick look at the major components show the seat will be $2300 minimum without hardware, trim, or labor. I suspect the real cost would be well over $3000. Your best bet to get an assembly is to contact salvage yards."
Looks like ill just be buying aftermarket seats....

Wow, that seems like alot of BS to me. I read somewhere on here, that someone took an Injen intake to their dealership and they installed it for him. In my opinion, dealerships would do literally anything for the cash.
Besides, I can do alot of things at my dealership, since my stepdad is a general manager. I got my side mirror covers half off. I hoping they can do some painting on the car too. But, try other dealerships, one would probably give the green light for install.

yeah i figured the price would be high for those seats but that cost more than the g85 package itself. The point was that they wouldnt sell me the recaros haha. Sooner or later ill be getting aftermarket seats.
