What will the dealer warranty allow me to do ...

I am looking at my options for some upgrades ... mostly exterior. I want to see what the dealer's warranty allow me to do exterior wise. Also, I'm trying to see what they offer as far as like body kits and such, and if they do tinting. Obviously I'd want them to install it so they are liable for it, but does anyone have any info for me?

What ever you replace that is after market and not GM approved or supplied will void the warranty on that part. IF you do major engine modification, it will void your drivetrain. Its good to ask the dealer too, but sometimes they will lie, let you put things on it, then they will say its not under warranty

Warranty will allow you to do: Wheels offered by Gm, Chrome Door Handles offered by Gm, Door Handle LED's offered by Gm, Sticker Kits offered by Gm.

Thats mainly it for your exterior

ask your dealership before you do any modifications.if they say not it won't void your warranty make them give it to you in writing so you have something to fall back on.

I really like the stock G5 GT rims. I wonder if GM has them available for the Cobalt.

Yes you can get them for the Cobalt. They are in a pamphlet that some of us SS owners got in the mail a month or so ago. Check out chevy.com/cobalt/accessories for more parts and goodies.

I was under the impression that those were 5x110 bolt pattern just like the 2.4L Cobalt SS (which is basically what the G5 GT is). You have a base model, which means you have the 4 bolt pattern. Don't think they'll fit. I could be wrong though, ask someone with a G5 GT on the site.

Yeah, you will have to negotiate with some local dealerships but if your planning on putting a boy kit and stuff like that your pretty much on your own. If you buy a kit make sure you buy it off a respectable company that will install it for you and guarantee the work.
