Wheel Paint?
Wheel Paint?
You guys out there that have or are painting turbo model rims what kind of paint are you suing and are there any special steps you found to take? Is the paint holding or chipping a lot? Thanks guys.
i dont have a turbo model, but ive painted a good amount of rims. i just use regular dupli-color spray paint, or whatever i can find for high temp. and they all hold up good, but i take a lot of time sanding every piece of the wheel make sure every part feels very smooth. ppl will say to use 400 or 600 grit, but ill use 800 first and then ill use 1500 to make it super super fine (wetsand obviously). ill also wetsand in between coats sometimes depending how much gloss im looking to get.
this should make your paint hold a decent time without breaking your budget.
p.s. dont use any strong disgreaser on the rims, itll eat off your clear/gloss and slowly eat the paint. learned it the hard way. (week after i painted them)
