Why do the ecotecs get the shaft on CF stuff

Why is it that every car out there besides the Ion and Cobalt have a shitload of underhood and other CF dressup stuff available? It's pathetic when cars like the Scion XB and Celicas have tons of selection when it comes to carbon fiber accessories. Is it the fact the most GM compact owners are cheapskates, or does the aftermarket just laugh and say "we're not going to waste our time."

I'm trying to find stuff such a a CF LSJ fuel rail cover, ignition cover insert, underhood fuse cover. I doubt anyone makes the stuff, but I think that these would be good product ideas for a vendor that specializies in this stuff to pick up on *hint hint. Anyways, does anyone know of anyone companies that would do custom one off stuff? I've emailed some, but they don't want to do it since they see no demand.

look at the other things vendors put out..like the huge interest in the harrop tvs...they forked out all the money to make new blowers and......they sold 5...

or the 6 speed tranny...everyone wanted one until they came out..

A lot of people like to talk **** saying that they'll buy something if it ever comes out, then when it comes time to pay up and get it they bail out. I still can't get over the amount of stuff that's even out for the scion tc, the cobalts don't have **** compared to them. The afftermarket sucks for these cars.

Yep, honda, acura, subaru, and mitsu owners aren't afraid of spending a little money on their cars. Come to think of it, there really hasn't been **** offered at all for a majority of domestic compacts. Wonder why?

its because everyone goes all excited and say they will buy a part that supposed to cost money they all **** bricks when they see the price and cry and complain about the price. IF you want quality parts you have to pay to play.

keep in mind the cobalt and ion are still a fairly new car to the tuner scene and will take some time for the industry to see that there is profit to be made from them.

the honda fit and scion tc, xb, xa all have a lot of aftermarket support and are fairly new cars to the tuner scene. if i were running a cf plant and was making **** to sale, would i market to hondas or chevy's? hmmm. you have to understand they want to make as much money as possible w/out spending too much on research to make them for a new car like the cobalt. the honda scene is already set and it also helps out that most parts are interchangeable between models and years.

ya i was gonna say that honda's and all the other tuner cars have been around for alot longer and have a much bigger following. that and sadly alot of people bought the cobalt for economy and if i had the money i would be modding the hell out of my car right now rather then a little mod every couple of months

The delta platform has been out since 03. If this is as far as we have got in 5 years I doubt much more is coming out.

That's true. Let me rephrase that, GM compacts.

I wouldn't specialize in just one car, not many aftermarket shops do. Look at AMS and Cobb, they don't stricly deal with Evos or STis. You would figure someone would be willing to try out new things even if there was a group buy with a certain amount of people each putting down deposits. I've already tried this also, it seems no one wants to go that route either. It's kind of amazing how little there is to offer for these cars from the aftermarket companies that specialize in GMs, such as gravana and rk sport.

not to mention the fact that the Cobalt is gonna have a short life span and be replaced by the Cruze.....nobody wants to make specialty parts for a dying brand.

yup, i wish we had more CF options, but no one will make them, pretty soon even our supporting vendors will up and ditch us...cobalts dont have the market like other cars do, i wish they made CF interior kits, not just over lays, but actual replacements, i wish there was a hub adapetr for the wheel(which there is, i think CA has one from momo), wish they made seat rails for the car...wish bigger comanies like greddy, HKS, APEXi would make parts for our cars, but point being, they wont...

That's one major reason, GM won't strick with one freaking car long enough for anyone to bother with it. I don't see why they will not just keep the delta platform cars and improve on them. The civic is the car that started the whole sport compact thing, it's not going away and neither is the huge aftermarket for it.

Same here, but like you said it'll never happen. I guess that's why people don't bother with domestics and go with Evos, STis, MS3s, Civics, etc if they stick with sport compacts.
