FYI I have six years, over 200 auto-x runs, dozens of track days and a few off tracks on stock knuckles. I have broken one. That was on the road in the winter. I slid sideways into a curb.

^^^ this. Correct. If you have a drum brake car its easier to put in our rear caliper backets and adjust camber, butother than wanting the 4 wheel disc brake set up, the fact is camber at the rear is simply not required...
the front knuckles are the same, and to upgrade to LNF knuckles 08 up on a car 04 -07 Redline and 05 -07 cobalt requires machining and addition of grand am wheel bearings to keep anti lock brake function. So the competition knuckle is an elegant way of dealing it this.
In 08 Cobalts, the abs supplier was changed to ATE Teves from Delphi, and the wheel bearing tooth count for the abs computer was changed. There are folks running around with LNF front stuff on older Cobalts , and just dealing with the "No abs" issue. The problem with that, it puts a lot more rear brake bias in the car than is desirable, and leaves you without the potential benefits of abs, being able to brake and steer at the same time with control in limited traction conditions.

Reading through this thread, I noticed the conditions in which people have actually broken these knuckles (being only 2 people). So unless you drive like an asshat, or you go into a series slide in the snow and on a curb, I don't think you're going to break the knuckle. Not worth changing and getting bumped into SM.
Coming over the crest of a hill at full speed and turning the wheels before they actually hit the ground....yeah. That's going to break something.

Hey guys, i just had these knuckles installed, the tech said that it toed in a ton, however the tie rod ends had enough adjustment to make up for it. Im an avid autocrosser and drive my car daily including during the winters in iowa that tend to beat up our roads. I will keep you guys updated on how i like them. I should also note that while installing these I had them check my front wheel bearings and both were in bad shape and had to be replaced (im at 75k miles). This winter i plan on installing the Hardcore rear sway bar. (also parts for new knuckles and bearings is not cheap)
