I have I disagree with you your car is faster shifting into 4th. Just going on basic principals. It takes wasted time to shift and you will be making more power on top of 3rd than you will at the low end of 4th.

You guys have low rev limiters! I take mine to 7400. Even trapping 111-112mph I still had 200rpm left.

My ets dont lie.

All my best ones were 4th shifts. Also based on my power band it is better to shift a bit short of the limiter anyway.

Staying in thIrd equals 101-102 at like 14.2-14.4
Fourth shifts were 103-104 at 14.1 and 14.01

Thanks for the compliments guys.
I was happy with my 60's . First launch dumped the clutch little too fast and wheel hop resulted in 2.4
All launches were done from 1800-2000 rpm slipping the clutch a little

slapbets 2.29 indicates its not driver error holding him back Dustin lol

Ya man you got your launch down pretty good that last run. Buy some drag radials or slicks and you'll be smiling ear to ear on the consistency you can lay down. Not to mention much harder launches.

I'm gonna try a 2nd gear burnout to put some heat in the tires. Going for a 1.9 or 1.8 60ft

Man I was barely ok with doing the no lift shifts today lol. slicks=drivetrain stress.

I think I'm done with modding the cobalt for a while. Pretty discouraged.
My brothers truck cut 1.7 60' on street tires. I really want something that will launch HARD

Lol don't worry about drivetrain stress... I laid a 2.0 60ft with a burnout big enough to clean my tires off and that's it. The key is to load the drivetrain before launching. You won't break anything doing so. And no matter what a RWD will always have a better 60ft than a FWD. the best part of last Saturday was getting complements and respect from guys with V8s shitting their pants I ran 12s with a Cobalt lol.

You could definetly load up the drive train a bit more. The only problem your likely to have is burning a clutch. And I would say that is very likely at your power level.
Also you would probably want trans mounts for the wheel hope to reduce axle stress.

NO reason to be frustrated with those times at gimli with a relatively conservative tune..

I would call a GMS1 a conservative tune not a trifecta tune IMO. But Dustin is right. No need to be discouraged. Whatever doesn't kill your car only makes you faster. Don't give up garret!

No I agree the times are alright, pretty much what I expected.
I'm discouraged because I feel as if I've plateaued on speed/reliability of this daily driver.
I want a weekend warrior.

Lol not even close. Between you and me, I make 27psi with a 14gph meth nozzle (basiclly relying on meth as my fuel) with and on the edge tune. Just keep an eye on your ****. Look at Jordan. Make 330whp and 400wtq. Its dooable with a DD just don't bag your car all day and keep an eye on things. I love being the underdog with my slow supercharged cobalt haha.

When the day comes I can run a fast V8 RWD big boy car, I'll keep my Balt as my DD 350whp winter beater lol

I Agree. Gms1 is a more conservative tune. I would never mean to imply otherwise. I'm just saying there is more power to be had by going more aggressive is all.

It's hard to replace rwd for launching. I mean awd is great.. But for all around go fast rwd is the win.

Make your truck a full out dragster Garrett!

It's his brothers truck. And for me, having an underdog car, being cheap to mod compared to other cars and still get 30+ mpg as a DD you cant beat a cobalt.

I agree cobalt is a great fun DD.
That truck is my brothers. And it's way out of my budget bracket.

Best way to stay in your budget would be to keep the Balt and go big turbo

Yeah I could big turbo cobalt and daily drive my winter car. But still doesn't satisfy my need to go slideways or launch hard. But definitely budget speed once your rolling!

You cant go sideways but no reason you can't do hard launches. Look at zrated89. All stock drivetrain and launches at 7k on slicks laying down 1.7 60fts all day long.
