I had an 08 evo x mr. It just wasn't as much fun to drive as the cobalt. $650/month wasn't very fun either lol
With about $1k the cobalt can be as fast if not faster and I can get more than 325 km/ tank lol
The only other car out there that kinda interested me was the genesis.

The genisis is gayyy. Good call going back to the Balt. Price, quality, fast. Not saying all 3 are the best but try to compare any other car category though and through and you won't find a better car. Best bang for the buck. Even though it's a cobalt haha.

The Auto is pretty much the only reason to go with the MR you can add all the other options if needed.

that is rather lame...
but GM only as of 2008 bumped up their warranty...
the 2007 model year cars only had a 3 year warranty!!
the post 2007 cars had it changed to a 3 year/60k km's bumper to bumper, and a 6 year/160k km limited powertrain...

genesis's are not that fast despite the power, and they weigh more. 350 hp but a 5.6 0-60 thppppp. and a 14.6 1/4 mile time. They are a sweet looking car though.

IMHO, it's not all about having the fastest car out there...

If it was everyone would be driving GTR's, and Corvette ZR1's... or Shelby Mustangs

I agree with you Jon. Its not always about having a fast car.

I personally really like the Gen coupe. good on gas, crazy cheap to purchase and like everyone said great warranty and nice interiors

I like to go fast too, but there is a limit with our cars.
The appeal for me to cars like the frs/brz, gensis, hell even a miata, is the limits are much higher.

With enough invested any rwd will be faster than us.
Not only that but got damn cornering in a rwd car is WAY more fun.

If your looking for cheap speed than yes the cobalt is fantastic.
If your looking for speed speed than the cobalt is not the answer.

I disagree. There's a limit to our cars like any other car. It all comes down to how much money you want to put into it. Look at the time attack Cobalt. It **** kicked a lot of cars wayyy out of it's league. Just because it's FWD doesn't make it limited IMO. It's just less fun haha.

If you want speed speed don't buy a 4 cylinder.

Gimli Saturday Garret?

anything can be made to go fast, and even handle;
the real question is how far you have to take the starting point vehicle to get to where you aspire to be...

have any of you seen the vid(s) Scythe_Snake's car?
(Apparently the street bikes won't even race the guy anymore! )

Then look at the tooling that BL gave my little car this past summer...

Two very different cars, running a whole lot faster than stock ~ but built with totally different goals in mind...
