I saw this earlier when checking in from my (old) iphone - and came back in hopes of seeing a dyno result... and just now saw that it was scheduled for next weekend.

That car moved like a banshee ~ I hope you find a replacement block, and get it back together without too much headache.

Dustin. I think that seeing you are doing this much, you might as well make the switch to turbo, I'll buy the TVS off ya.

I'd buy a V8 RWD before I go turbo.

It would be a shame to lose the TVS.
Dustin, I like your car, I've made not qualms about this;
This does suck, but I for one, hope you stay supercharged...

There needs to be some LSJ lovin on this site ~ the kind which supports keeping it' supercharged.

A turbo isn't the end-all, cure-all ~ and IMHO, a clean build is best - so I'm of the mindset that an LSJ car should remain supercharged...

I hope you don't have too much problem finding a replacement block...

But when you do, I ZZP sells this nice piece;
ZZPerformance - ZZP Girdled Block #ZZ-GB-ECT
I would suspect that you might be able to buy the girdle (essentially an insert for the tops of the "floating" cylinder bores) separately...

Ya it was a say day on Saturday that's for sure... Still don't understand why it happened though.

The block is fine to put Dalton sleeves in. But Kevin has a spare. What's going back in it you may ask? Dalton sleeves, Diamond pistons, neutral balance shafts, 78lb valve springs and ARP head studs . That block from ZZP is overkill for my hp

Luckily my cousin just bought a house with a massive shop so that is where my car is going to be stored for the winter. Pull the motor out there, bring it to Kevin's and build the motor over the winter.

Who else is swapping to winter rubber in the next couple weeks? Even better, who stores their Cobalt for the winter?
