Manitoba's SS's 2010
his quarter mile e/t & mph seem to be right about where Cobalt SS/TC's are who are making about the same hp numbers.
So I have a couple items for sale off my poor smashed Balt. Stock airbox with k and n filter, aeroforce scan guage(black/white with chrome bezel), cobalt addiction steering column pod, and door panel switches with silver bezels in nice condition. Figured I'd ask you guys first. Shoot offers I just want this stuff gone
a stock SS/TC on stock everything ran 13.6. they dyno roughly at 240 WHP.
He had slicks on when he made his 14 second pass
Tuned LNF's with 300 WHP on slicks run 12's
So you are obviously mistaken lol
Comparing 1/4 mile times to dyno numbers is like comparing apples to oranges

First the 13.9 & 13.7 road tests were done under ideal conditions (read: great prepped track) at, or nearly at sea level;
Second, there is an AB SS/TC which iirc was dynoed at something like 301whp and pulling 13.6 in the quarter.
(I just can't find that info at this moment.)
You will find very few TC's here that are running 13.x with street tires- sure there are some, but not many - and all are probably better drivers than myself.
Since trapped mph is an indicator of power (please don't dispute this, if you doubt me, please google it), and BL's mph is higher than mine I don't doubt his car makes more power than mine;
I had one run wit a 100.xxmph trap speed, all the rest seem to be around 98;
From seeing some local SC's trap speeds, I have roughly 8-10mph on stock SS/SC's.
I see alot of posts on this site of people calling bs for no good reason - not that I'm accusing you of anything, but it is easy to get wrapped up in a mentality when you hang out here...
fair enough?
Does this dyno shop have a rep of somehow skewing the hp numbers to appease their customers?
I had suggested in another thread to run in 4th gear, becasue I've understood that if you use a gear with a ratio lower than 1:1 the hp numbers normally appear higher;
I'd expect the numbers to come off a bit low when dynoing in 4th gear, but considering that 3rd gear is 1.18:1 while 4th gear is 0.89:1, that roughly 20% under, versus roughly 10% over scenario - I'd think that 4th gear might show more accurate numbers.
This wasn't a knock against you, but I don't' really care for it when people come to a thread, and call BS without explaining themselves...

I had slicks on when i made my 14 second pass? Obviously YOU are mistaken. I had my stock tires on when i ran 14.0@103. The second time i went on radials, taking it easy launching and i was trapping 106mph. At the end when i made my 13.6@104 pass my clutch was slipping in and out down the drag strip so i called it quits.
no, you're missing some pretty huge factors.

Traction plays a huge role in your trap. Not just a calculation of power.
Also. reason few TC's are running 13's in Alberta is due to your elevation.
Also, a few people on here have run 13's on stock SS/TC's
At the end of the day, his car is now a 300 WHP supercharged cobalt. 250-260 at best (with a header/downpipe)
Also remember powerband, a supercharged car builds power the entire band, turbo cars not so much.
please allow me to clarify, I'm not trying to argue;
I never used the word calculator, calculation ect, the word I used was indicator;
indicator, and calculation are two vastly different words, with vastly different implications... especially on this subject.
Please stop to realize I wasn't saying the dyno was correct, I was asking you to clearly explain why you called BS without any proof or logic.
I then followed up suggesting the dyno could be correct and gave a couple indicators of BL's car making more power than the average (stock) LNF;
I then chose to cite a Cobalt running about the same ET, with about the same HP/dyno results (unfortunately with my inability to recall where I read it, or who it was, it was an admittedly weak point).
You made me google it, and there are a bunch of calculators that essentially theoretically check hp/weight via mph or MPH+weight ect, ect...
I did find THIS link which was a great little read though, so I didn't waste my time.
FYI, I am aware of the e/t vs trap speed game, and have been drag racing as funds have allowed it for a little over two years now - and incase you were wondering it, my highest trap speeds were not my best e/t's in either car.
On an unrelated matter;
You still coming down here in November?
If you're game, I'd be for meeting up to shoot the crap one night.
I already met BL in person as well as Love_my_SS(?that was you right?) - both seemed like great guys... so I'd hope neither would come on here and intentionally lie.

In my images i have my 13.6 pass and i was racing slapbetcommissioner's SS/TC with GMS1. If you look i was trapping higher speeds then him...

Projeckt, quick question about your post above about the et's in alberta due to elevation. Correct me if i am wrong but wouldnt you have higher et's and lower traps with a higher elevation as there is lower pressure and less oxygen at higher altitudes therefore not allowing engines to make as much power as say a engine at sea level? Just curious
love my ss...i have the aeroforce interceptor. no wideband. guage and pod for $100 and i will throw in the armrest bezels. just want this stuff gone no more cobalts lol. i believe i have the box and instructions as well.
on a side note, im looking into a 92 mazda familia (323) gtx. 330 awd hp. only thing holding me back is rhd. steal of a deal in ontario.

He also got his best run on the pass I had 103.22.
He had 13.6331@104.46
where I ran 14.90@ 103.22
He had only .4second better 60ft than me as well. So he's defiantly making more hp than me I estimate I've got approx 270-275whp
103.22mph was my best mph but was also. My 2nd worst quarter mile. I averaged out at 102mph throughout the night.. When we ran his mph was significantly higher.

From my understand, the less traction one has the higher trap one can get. Its hard to explain, specially because i am a little hung over.
Simply put, a G8 GT making 400 whp runs a 105 MPH trap with a 60 ft lower then mine (about 1.8-1.9 where as mine is 2.2) I trap about 114 MPH running 13.6 the G8 runs a 12.4.
The trap game is all traction and weight. It would be very wrong for me to say my car is faster because my trap is much higher.
