Alberta 2010 best E/T's
Considering the few people posting last year, I'm going to do a slightly different format (with the same rules as before);
Untill we have enough posts to split up into groups, we're going with a "top ten" type listing in this format;
rank - e/t - user name - car & engine
Rules are simple
2010 ALBERTA BEST E/T's
S/C Ecotec Top 1/4 Mile Times:
T/C Ecotec Top 1/4 Mile Times:
Ecotec N/A Top 1/4 Mile Times:
Honorable Mention:
Untill we have enough posts to split up into groups, we're going with a "top ten" type listing in this format;
rank - e/t - user name - car & engine
Rules are simple
- Must be from Alberta, or have run in Alberta (well, we'll let Saskatchewan-oneans in too... because I like people from SK and they don't have their own thread)

- Post your time With a time slip (a video will do, only if it clearly shows your e/t & mph - if it's not clear, it's nfg)
- Post your car/year/engine, any mods or pertinent info

(I think the air was REALLY god in town last night, kinda made me wonder if I could pick up a tenth or so...)
PLEASE!!
(ok I went digging to find more info which either of you have posted, if I got anything wrong, please correct me)
I'll ad mine too;

no - I helped him remove some weight on friday night, during which he spied a spare pillar w/boost gauge I had in the garage - he simply borrowed it for the night for a couple laughs...

you know what;
you're 1/100th off of another 2.4L's E/T
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/cana...-times-169570/
maybe you need to find pickles asap to beat both the local CSS.net 2.4L owners!

(nothing quite like raising the bar huh?)

which version?
L61 or LAP? (or both?)
You do know this is not the older L61 right?
I would suspect that considering since the dropping of the *2.4L from the Cobalt engines in late 2008 every single 2008.5+ non-SS Cobalt came with the same 2.2L "LAP"... that's alot of cars running around - many of which I suspect will be like CalgaryBalt, looking to get tuned...
*FYI: with the introduction of the '08 SS, and subsequent cancellation of the '08 "Sport", the closest car to the 2006-2007 SS/2.4 & 2008 'Sport', became the RPO 'TV5' Sport Appearance Package cars.
EDIT:
I just looked it up, I was right;

I looked on that site to find a way to purchase a key to do the LAF, but all I saw were packages with their software... I understand pickles does tuning, and was going to talk to him about my brother's car ('01 SC/Z24) - but I know I'll have to pay for him (or anyone else for that matter) to be able to tune my brothers car...
can you tune?

well iirc the L61 & LSJ have the same block - the L61 blocks are really easy to find in pick n pull - it would just be a matter of finding another crank, and your on your way to having a complete "spare" engine to build up!
this is what I found:
L61
bore: 86mm
stroke: 94.6mm
LSJ
bore: 86mm
stroke: 86mm
I have seen one LE5 already in pick n pull - I don't see why you couldn't even use that engine's complete short block with an LSJ top end to make a smidge more power
I was looking at the "neutral balance shafts" GM#88958615 (pg 269 of the 2010 GM performance parts cat) - have you read of, or talked to anyone who has used them?
Ideally it would be nice to kill the balance shafts all together - I know the late Quad4's can be retrofitted to delete the balance shafts so that they spin freely, and use a better oil pump...
oh, I better stop, I could have too much fun with this
