Calgary - random talk thread
Hey Larry you shouldn't have said anything about the aftermarket clutch, I've seen stock cobalts do this. Also I got my car today so I'll need the cable back. I am ordering this hood and front spoiler too.

Do you think maybe I should phone GM on this. I have talked to two guys already about the this problem and both happened on a stock clutch.
cheers

Larry, let me know if you need my cable, in case the idiots decided to scan the car and "accidentally" flashed it back to stock.
And definitely appeal to gm, although I doubt that much good will come of it. When I had issues at carter, I called gm and they just took the side of the dealership quoting; "they are our eyes and ears and we have to take what they say as truth"
I'm really starting to think I should get a quality aftermarket master cylinder and replace the firewall plate before I put my centerforce in after seeing what happened to you. Everytime something has gone on my car, I have promptly replaced it with something less prone to failure.

Jack Carter is unbelievable. I don't understand how anybody buys a gm product anymore with the way our service departments treats customers. It's one thing to try and make money, but when you repeatedly try and charge customers 5000+ for a job that could easily be covered under warranty if they would stand behind their product, they wouldn't risk losing customers that could easily come back for $40,000 plus vehicles.
JACK CARTER CHEV OLDS FTL!!!!!!!!
I don't know if any other dealerships are any better, but I am perfectly content fixing problems myself considering the lack of warranty support, parts markup, and not knowing if the moron working on the car is going to **** up the car more just putting a wrench to it.
----------------------------------------------
I wouldn't mind if we could start a thread with Jack carter horror stories so I can call there and talk to the owner and make them realize what a horrible job they are doing.
I am sure that the owner would be more than willing to listen if more than a dozen of us have had horrible experiences with them, making him understand that the idiots he employs are hurting his bottom line in the long run.
I would throw a party if we were able to get "Service manager Jim" Fired. I would book time off to go and laugh at him sitting on a corner downtown drinking box wine

The one thing that pissed me of is that I had to do all the research to find out what needed to be done. I went back to Carter and explained it to the Service Manager and he did not even check into it or weather the part was available. The first discussion I had with him was that it could not be fixed. So there I am standing there with this look on my face "WTF" thinking this cant be right. He then shrugs and tels me he does not know what I should do. So I say to him "are you telling me because of this failed part I have a 2800 lb paper weight. Then he sees the CobaltSS.net sticker and tells me I should go on there and ask if anyone else had the same problem. Again "WTF". So I leave and do the research and think to myself "do I want these idiots touching my car anymore" the answer was "**** NO!!!". I also told him that I was going to charge them my billable day rate because I had to do the research and tell the supposed professionals how to do there job. He then looks at me and asked "would you really do that" and I say "dam right". I also told him that if I showed my clients this type of incompetence that they would drop me like a brick.
I just found out that I am also having this warranty problem because of the amount of times that roll pin was fixed under warranty. **** said the last time it was in that they would not warranty it any more. I thought that they were only talking about the pin so I was like OK. It seems though they were talking about anything to do with the clutch. Kieth the shop foreman is willing to help out though so we will see what this comes out to be.
I have to give **** this; I have always had good service there.
I will keep you guys updated.

On a side note from what I've seen it looks like my balt is gonna be a pain to sell so I'll give it till end of May and start saving for turbo or Harrop supercharger in the meantime. Leaning more towards turbo, I can't lie I miss spoolage lol.
