there's an arrival blue SS/SC at Southgate chevrolet. it looks stock, has the smokers package, it says 07 on the tag but it has the 06 raised buttons on the steering wheel. the SS emblem is on the bottom of the doors and it doesn't say how many km's.

They want $14,995. I think it's about $6000 too high. even if it's got under 100,000 km's it's still a smoker car and it's discontinued

arrival blue = 2005 & early 2006

if I bought an SS/SC it would have been in arrival blue... that's my favorite OE Cobalt colour.

did you spy Recaros? (the back seats for pre-2007 Recaro cars are even stitched different than the rest)...

Out of curiosity, how is the back seat stitching different?

Since I have a pre-2007 Recaro car, I wouldn't mind knowing.

How did some of you guys get like 10 tint tickets with no order to take it off? I was content to keep paying $57 tickets... but the cop who gave me the last one (3rd ticket, first on this car) just came here and told me he'd take the car, or he can watch me peel it off. Do they really have nothing better to do on a Saturday morning? Apparently not.

He'll find a parking pass for McCain in there. Also, he should put a half decent clutch in before driving it hard. Not that he would, given the KDW's are still on.

iirc leather and the exposed (red?) stitching I've only seen one legit 05-06 G85 car...

or at least one that I picked up on this on...

What driving to Calgary and back like 12+ times 10 of which in the winter does to your paint:
Note this is fully washed and I did not miss a spot. First time I've seen the car in the sun for a long time, before Calgary trips paint was flawless. Not complaining just saying this is what happens

She used to look like this back in October:

Yeah, it's definitely worth looking into a bra if you're doing that many highway miles. 90% of my driving is highway and it definitely takes its toll.

I think there's even a bra out there that works with the TC front grille...
or that's what I heard...
but even the regular bra could probably be made to work (with a little ingenuity) just fine...

Well Greg - you can't say I didn't warn you...

I wish someone would have sternly warned me...
The closest I can recall anyone saying was Mark telling me our paint was crap... then again his car looked great ~ and had a good two years of use over mine...
at hte time I shrugged it off...

Funniest thing just happened.

I pull into my driveway with my friend in his Mopar Stage 1 Caliber SRT4 and this guy in a black Cobalt SS/SC with no wing and black rims rolls up and asks if it is an SRT4, so I tell him yes and he asks,

"How much horsepower you runnin...?". I reply with "I dunno, 300ish..?".

Then he asks "think you can beat this!?" and starts just bouncing his car off the rev limiter. I look at my friend in pure amazement at this and then he starts spouting off that he has "A upgraded smaller supercharger, overbored cylinders and some other incomprehensible crap, does a burnout and drives away.

Too funny. I didn't even know what to say.

Joel

I was just going to ask about that maybe meant supercharger pulley, oh well...

I went to race city with my truck just after I bought it and did a few passes, got my ass handed to me once, spanked another and them barely won my last run. On my way home I was going down Barlow and these two young kids come up beside me in a golf gti and wanna race from a dig, so I step on it and start pulling away, next light turns red and we stop and get ready to go, I hear them spool the turbo and I start to spool mine. Light turns green and I take off, as I'm chirping tires through the intersection I hear the guy stall his car so I'm laughing hysterically. Next light comes up and he wants to go again, so I spool my turbos light turns green and slight tire spin as I leave him behind me all the way down the road. I start slowing down for the next light and he flys up beside me windows closed and turns around at a red light and disappears.

Some people just shouldn't have a licence

all funny stories...

you had better be able to beat a GTi ~ my gran damn can ~ and apparently pissed off the (then brand new) GTi owner enough that they stopped racing (I think they left).

then again - I understand being a bit pissed... you did just lose to a freaking Grand Am!
but childish reactions are inexcusable ~ I mean it's racing - you win some, and you lose some.

I've lost ALOT.

ha-ha!!

Some of these Cobalt guys don't get the SRT4's ~ on average, they need to be a bit more careful ~ the average N-SRT4 makes more power than most SS/SC's out there (note I said average, and most)...
The C-SRT4 is a bit different ~ it could be part driver, or part unequal.
Stock for stock they are pretty much a drivers race ~ even though the SRT makes 25 more horsepower...
The Mopar stage1 C-SRT4's make 300whp (no jokes) ~ and as found out today by my brother (who has an '09) - once you get more than stage1 - you simply have less traction...

This is consistant with the couple C-SRT4 guys I talked to at raceway over 2010 ~ they all reported same times after upgrades, but bigger traction problems...
I had a bit of fun with my brother tonight after a MPx DP install, in um... would you believe mexico?...
Anyway, he did have a momentary jump on me, and I did start sliding perpendicular to the direction of travel ~ but we were both bang on with each other...
He's apparently got some Mopar stage injectors coming, and has been contemplating buying this Stage1-killer ECM...

Kasper ~ this same brother has had C-SS's try to mess with him all over the place (but not so much of late) - and I don't recall of one instance where he didn't hand it to the Cobalt... as a matter of fact he has a couple stories of VERY pissed off Cobalt drivers

The dual exhaust is an MPx thing ~ it looks and sounds great btw...
but my brothers car has no tint, and aside from both an In-N-Out burger Hotwheels stickers on the back glass ~ can be identified by Tire Rack special (rad: cheap) five spoke wheels with winter rubber... his is black pewter metallic (if that was what Dodge called it)...

Even though (with the right company) I might sometimes have some fun (I mean who doesn't?) ~ I am definitely about keeping it on the track - so I simply don't get someone rolling up, being a tool and trying to race you...

Must be some kind of immature-punk-who-wants-to-get-in-a-wreck thing...

So I was thinking out loud last night at TH's... what would you all think about rolling down to Lethbridge on Friday afternoon on Friday July 13th ~ take in some cruising, then rolling back to Calgary later on.
(hotels are there ~ but odds are even now many are booked (at higher rates)...

Posting some (preliminary) events on GM Tuners of Calgary (on FB)...

Lethbridge regional Police bring in MANY extra cops during that weekend... just saying...

I think though, if you're not a local, and not making trouble the cops should be ok...

It can be fun though to all park together in a parking lot along Mayor Magrath, setup some lawn chairs and watch the cars cruising by...
Nothing like that happens in Calgary.
