Probably somewhere here in Edmonton..... I was considering going to Red Deer to watch it at Post Time cause one of my women is working the fight tomorrow, but I dont really want to stay the night after drinking, or drive and not be able to have a couple beers.

Well boys and girls, Grab some popcorn and a beer because it's rant time!
I was pulled over tonight while I was driving a friends brother home from work and I was pulled over for tint. No big surprise there since I get at least 1 a year. The shocking part that really got me going is that the cop(Who sounded like he was right off the plane from Quebec) told me that 15% was legal. I then told him that my windows were 15%, he ask for them to be rolled up so he could see and being the polite gentleman that i am did roll the window up 2 inches for him to shine his flashlight on it and tell me that it was darker than that.
Now I really don't like being called a liar especially when it comes to the parts I have on my car but I remember the % of each window and how much it cost me to get those windows done almost 4 years ago and I'm sure sammi would be able to back me up on that. He then gave me the run around that it's for their safety and blah blah blah.
After he came back from the car to give me the ticket he then proceeded to tell me that I could get a ticket for my muffler being oversized. I didn't understand and I asked why and he said and I quote "That it's not stock so it's illegal". I have kas as a witness to all this so you can ask her if that's what he said.
I was under the impression that the outlet of the muffler could not exceed the inlet size of the muffler for this to actually be a real law.(More like a joke if you ask me). so since I always get heated when people say this and that are illegal to have on vehicles, I am at the point where I'm either going to write an email or call the minister of transportation's office and see who I talk to about vehicle equipment and safety laws to finally clear the air about all this bullshit that's been thrown around all these years I have been modding which is around 12.
So i'll think about this for a couple days to get my head straight and I will pick a course of action. I know that if anything comes out of this that I will be black flagged all around alberta and will have nothing but problems with the cops and I am ready to fully accept that.
I just needed to vent and thought you guys might find that interesting.
Moral of the story is? you can have tinted tail lights, and tint on your back windows and have a loud car but an oversized exhaust system that's not stock size and less than 15% tint on drivers windows is illegal.

i thought no tint on the front windows were legal...
the muffler thing is a joke... if it was really a law they would be sitting outside fort mac, drayton valley and every other oilfield town in alberta pulling every truck over cus it would be a god damn cash cow

I know. plus all the diesel trucks in calgary that have "Non-stock" exhaust should be getting tickets left right and center.
If things are illegal like drugz, is it not legal to distribute and sell such a product? From what I heard, the whole aftermarket parts should be shut down as it's promoting illegal activity and equipment for vehicles right??

gases from the engine without excessive noise and without
producing flames or sparks.
(2) A person shall not drive or operate a motor vehicle propelled

muffler has been widened.
(3) A person shall not drive or operate a motor vehicle propelled
by an internal combustion engine if a device is attached to the

widened means if the outlet is wider than the inlet. it says nothing about stock size. it's all about interpretation and everyone's is different.

lol i came by did a huge ninja edit coz my comp at home sux....
ok in all my dealings with pigs including my cousin..... this is how i understand it.... i believe your exhaust is illegal however until mr officer puts your car on a hoist you can fight it.... the muffler cannister can not have a exit bigger then the inlet.... remember the exit is not the tip.... that is the most comon mistake, if the exit was the tip then stock exhaust would be illegal.... however i do beieve your not allowed to enlargen the exhuast itself.... your car came with 2.5 it should stay 2.5, you have 3.... all these trucks and muscle cars are illegal too but the cops dont care about them..... they focus strickly on tuners..... in ab you dont have to run a cat...... however there is a law that states you can not remove any enviroment equipement..... so thats kinda grey area.... as for windows it states shoulder forward no tint..... thats a firm law..... if you get lucky the officer will allow you a very light shade.....
in other words you got yanked coz your a tuner.......... bottom line......
