Are you going to take everything I say whichever way you want? I never said they shouldn't build one or it will be horrible if they do build it. I simply stated my opinion that when they actually start building the damn thing that I will start to acknowledge that they will follow through with it. If you can't interpret what a person means then by all means ask rather than make a post calling people something they shouldn't be called.

same attitude, different times, different places, but each has one thing in common, a positive idea from a briliant and positive individual(a dreamer if u will) and on the other side ppl who have no vision outside their own eyesight, and for those ppl i feel sorry. It is the dreamers and inventors that helped shape todays world by daring to do what everyone tells them is impossible. Like building a racetrack in wheatland county, and in Rockyview, and i hear of another being proposed in Oysoos BC(Area 27), instead of saying it'll never happen(a negative comment) try saying your excited about the idea and that u hope it comes to fruitation. Even if the task seems impossible you need to show appreciation to those who are willing and daring enough to try to bring us such an ambishious project, and "I'll believe it when i see it" is as close to "i dont care if u succeed" as it gets, tells me some bits and pieces about your character, not all the pieces, but some.

If you think you can judge someone though a computer or a phone screen then you are far worse than the nay sayers you speak of. I never once said that it will never happen. If you interperet that as me saying I hope it never happens is your own fault. I'm not a dreamer, I'm a realist. I see things for what they are, just because I don't have high hopes for something that has been in the making for 3 years doesn't mean I don't think it will happen.

Having an opinion is one thing but judging someone based on thier opinion is juvenile for an adult. You may think you can tell who I am based on what you think I said but ask anyone in here about me and you should realize that your judge in character is not even remotely close to who I am.

With that being said, I hope you reinvent the wheel just like 90% of the people since its actual invention who claim to be original.

you have some valid points but in this case your pushing a opinion that is not share by either of us. we have heard this very same rumor for over 10 years. it has a nice fantasy but it falls short in so many ways. 1 location 2 no drag strip 3 no oval 4 funding 5 over all preperation.

if this so called dreamer had his ducks in a row and did his research he would realize that you cannot open a successful track in north america without a drag strip or oval. dont get me wrong for a road coarse facility his dream is strong. however without making it a multi event facility he will fall severly short. location will also play effect. do you really think 200 people would travel over a hour just to road race on a daily bases? then you look around once your there and you see not 1 hotel, motel, nor inn. dude i lived beside rosebud, and the small hamlet of 30 people can not support a event that would hold 1000 people. what happens if there a was a weather emergency? now what? where are those people going to go?

your not looking at the big picture nathan. that is the bottom line. without a multi event facility near with in a half hour of calgary. all other purposals will fall short. the biggest thing any facility will need to be successful is a nhra, nascar, and cart sanctioned resources. without all else will fail.

maybe its time you thought about the real world nate, pipe dreams get you no where.

also if you look back in this thread way back to the early years and we first had this conversation i said the same thing. you argued me til you turned blue. yet til this day this project has yet to take off. the biggest reason it will not work is because the facility absolutely needs to be a MULTI EVENT FACILITY!!!!!!!! IT MUST HAVE ROAD, OVAL, AND DRAG RACING. IT MUST PASS NHRA, NASCAR, AND CART POLICIES.

 

I read it perfectly fine. You should take your own advice in your signature. You took this from a discussion to mocking someone for thier opinion to judging someone's character over a computer screen whom you have only met twice. So before you open your mouth next time, think it over 3-8 times in your head and then think it over again.

There ARE in fact still tracks in Alberta, to argue a new one is played out. Just drop it, no one is going to be financially responsible for something that big that may not work out. Unfortunately racing is not big enough in this province, nor are they open long enough to be truly successful.


I'd kill to have a track closer than it is now, but it's just not realistic.

 

It started as people giving thier opinions on the topic but turned into people thinking that thier opinion should mean the world to others, some people think they can judge others character based on the interwebz and the don't mean what they say if you go by the signature.

but actually who Jon is has nothing to do with if a track will or will not be built. The only reason you would say something about someone else is simply because your argument is invalid. I'll have faith when I see a track going down, until than it's unrealistic to believe it will happen in the near future.
