Calgary - random talk thread
Ok, then I recall your car;
I met you once at Race City, and IIRC your car languished at Shaganappi for a LOOOONG time...
the way Mark typed it there, I am reading two possible errors;
1) crankshaft position
2) camshaft position
I am guessing that this SES code has moreover something to do with the deleted balance shafts...
I have heard that the LNF has kanipshin-fits with the balance shaft delete mod ~ which is somethign I'd be inclined to do if I was working on the short block...
Jon, do you have a GM service manual at home?

i wrote the code to how it reads on the chart. i believe we have a grasp on how to fix it. it should be a simple fix. its only the camshaft position sensor position. so the next datalog will be alot more fun. o ya i fixed my exhaust leak
When I did the timing I didn't touch the cam sensor at all because it came together and I forgot that when the head was ported it ws all taken apart. So it looks like all we have to do is set that up at TDC and we're good to go
LSJ... Love the blower whine.
A mini meet would be cool. See who is still around etc.

Oh?
didn't you buy an Audi?
C-SRT4 or N-SRT4?
Most of the guys who met on Barlow sold their cars;
Then a couple years ago, three things happened around the same time;
1) some newer owners came in who were more interested in causing trouble, and making the rest of us look bad;
2) some of the loclas wrote off their cars
3) I created the facebook group, to create a new option for keeping in touch, while theoretically expanding the group to more than just Cobalts.
The Facebook group is how many of the locals have kept in touch (this thread can be a bit tough to follow at times; eg, sometimes when checking in, I find that I am thirty pages behind);
The Facebook group has dwindled, as the activity here has, but there have been people who just found the FB group easier to follow;
Mark doesn't facebook, so that's why he's not in on it.
Did you ever meet Nathanial?
Nathaniel bought a red '08 LNF new, he's still around;
His buddy Edwin just came back too (he used to have a black '09, now he has a yellow '08)...
There are currently fifty members of hte facebook group;
Just like on this thread, the biggest hiccup has always been planning events - many people (myself of late included) just have a hard time commiting to anything...

no more code and raped ape comes to mind. i developed a issue with my boost guage not working. i will fix it tomorrow and im ready for some datalogging. i should be good to go by the weekend. i am surprised it even ran. that original datalog was useless.
yes raped ape.
yes raped ape.
Mark I got your message;
I emailed Trifecta and said that the datalog I sent last night can be disregaurded.
Kevin, I got your text, but am replying here because texting on hte phone can be a bit tedious;
You are running stock cams right?
The K04+ (or what ever) does look great, but doesn't it have the same (for lack of better terminology) rev limit (maybe it's called overspool) as the stock K04?
One thing I left off that other thread was neutral balance shafts (I meant that in regaurds to Marks car)...
I just don't get it how so many people into this scene just don't get that for good reliable power you need to dig into the engine - so that thread was created to see what ZZP would have to say...
I couldn't imagine nearly 500 reliable horsepower in my car...
(In the spirit of what Mark used to constantly be over heard saying, I'd be changing my shorts every drive - ha!)
On one hand I'd like to have fun, but at the same time, my car is fun right now, and I really want to get going on the real "big bird"...
