.Also Jrmotosports_88. Good luck man, seems like your having a really shitty deal here with your car the last bit.

yes, will just have to wait 4-5 weeks if thats ok, (I want to start my car on the 60's and then once i know its running good will put the 80's on) or sooner if this damn snow melts. My car should be started for the first time next week. Engine build finishing up
Ther 180 new with harness+shipping so think thats a fair deal? Also have stock injectors if anyone wants those?

it was my fuse box.... some how it failed i still dont have all the info yet.....
really, ya i would never have thought of that.
well actually we were thinking that just before we towed it..... it dont matter i still needed to bring it too gm.... even if i put a new one in
I'm guessing some sort of short in the fusebox circuitry...
for those of you who were not there to work on it first hand, none of the codes (IMHO) pointed to anything;
they all pointed to the missing 2nd O2 sensor, and running either rich or lean (probably because of the missing 2nd O2 sensor).
As much as this sucks, this pretty much exemplifies why modern cars are not for the average "back-yard mechanic";
you need the proprietary diagnostic scanners to properly diagnose these cars...
at first the car was running, but the idle bounced something fierce and we could see no cause;
I had suggested that we look at the plugs, and if anything be replaced we look at the fuel filter purely because those two were easy to replace items that are often overlooked...
I had thought that after that, the car was going to be brought to a dealer to be hooked up to an OBD2...
It was when we finally got the fuel filter off, that Mark decided we should drain the tank, during which the fuel pump all together stopped...
I could completely understand Mark's reluctance to bring the car to a dealer, and it seems to me that somewhere along the lines, some bad advice was given, and alot of monies were spent...
Mark I wish I could help you out somehow...
but so far you have seen the extent to which I am able to help (my own time)...
I was wondering this last week (but didn't say it) when you told me the fuel pump was replaced;
Do you know what is all covered under the powertrain warranty?
If I had to guess, I'd wager a the fuse box is a part of the powertrain...
Anyway, I'm glad to hear that the problem has been sourced.
If it helps any, my car's still sitting awaiting a valve cover gasket;
Hey - maybe you'll have your car back & running before me?
(no harm in hoping right?)
Sick deal. I have a 2.8" with a ZZP 5 bolt hub for sale if someone picks up his 60's. I am sure I could cut a deal for a Calgary/Lethbridge Cobalt owner
.

but this just might be covered under the powertrain warranty (and really, is there harm in hoping?)
yeah, I thought about that, but I know it's GM's practice to not reuse a SINGLE gasket;
so I'll just wait... and accumulate zero miles on my car while waiting
I have a 2.8/hub from OTTP on my car, this is hanging out in my room. Idle bounce will be gone with tune in the spring. No plans on downgrading at all. Can only go up
.I'm going to school in sept, so we'll see how it goes but I really want to get a TVS. I have a deal with a friend with his truck that if he gets a SC kit for his I'll buy one the same day
I'm picking up a winter beater for next year, I figure I'll spend a couple grand on something and sell it in the spring and use that for a TVS. Even a lightly used one can be picked up for under $1500 now. I'm working my way up with supporting mods too. I just want to get a start on school right now, my car is fast enough to hold me over and a tune will give me another kick in the ass.
Also, I like the new sig.
Joel
so joel... not that im a stalker or anything
but as i was cleaning up my computer i came across some photos that i snapped when i first got my camera...

judging that its the same plane as the one in ur sig... was it you flying lol

even tho i dont know all the details yet, i am sure this will not be covered under warranty, and the one price i have heard was well over 500 dollars...
tjay, ?????????? you dont need to replace valve cover gasket everytime? this is good too know i want to paint it.... but just in case something goes wrong and mine is no good.... does anyone here have a spare one i could buy so i dont have to wait over 2 weeks to get one?

And Jon i hope they do cover it but i was just speaking from experience with GM and warranty
well its official it was fuse box and it will cost 560ish parts and labour... so i guess with everything said and done it could have been worse.... yet it could have been better... as for warrenty, no sir.... electrical is not covered on powertrain....
