(where's the beaming smile!?)

That's understandable... hopefully she gets over it though.

Considering the limited budget that I expect to see @ RC, and the fact that the ground will probably still be pretty cold, I don't expect SS to be really hoping till around June...

It would be nice if Nensi would make some kind of decision regarding the future of RC, because if it closes, Calgary will not have a track for the foreseeable future ~ and street racing will probably become a legitimate problem...

Then again, for the last couple years I have been to Calgary Drag Racing Association meetings, and tried to be involved in the Calgary Motorsport Association...

I'll tell you this, things don't look good.

Had Ric McKiver been voted in, he would have ensured that we always had a racing venue.

and FYI, the Grand Am will be shortly taking over as my Secret Street/weekend car...
I doubt that the Cobalt will come out at all...

you're making it sound like it's a fedral or provincial level thing - which it isn't.

the lease for RC's land was written up till something like 2025 with the city of Calgary ~ but the city cousil has repeatedly screwed with them...
When Bronconier was asked about the "local track" he thought the questions were about horse racing ~ that epitomizes the complacent/ignorant attitude which the last version of city council had...
Ric was the only one trying to make matters known... then stupid Barb Higgins threw in her hat, with nere a political opinion, only recognition because of being a long time news anchor - and created vote splitting.

oh i know its completely the city of calgary thats screwing things up. i never implied it was provincial or federal just to clear that up. and considering the chief of police knows exactly what will happen when race city shuts down and is 100% on our side to keep race city open

^^ True. Doesn't mean it will happen. Just means the amount of reckless driving, and speeding tickets will go waayy up!

oh they will sky rocket as well as needless accidents from stupid people who don't know the limits of their vehicle and from vehicles that shouldn't be driven on the road due to failing parts that go neglected

Would it just be the drag strip shutting down or the actual circuit. What about the go kart track behind race city. Will that get closed as well?

has anyone here been on the circuit part? do you have to be in a racing league, be a member of an auto-x club or are there days were you can just pay a fee and go rip around the track?

the circuit part to my knowledge hasn't been used in quite a while, the 2 parts that get used the most is the drag strip and the oval. the oval also gets setup as an autocross course during secret street
