Calgary - random talk thread
hahahahaha hey man dont kid yourself tampa is a hell of a team.... but then again so is boston and game seven will be absolute barn burner.... btw both of these teams i feel are better then vancouver....
Had a sunroof in my Cavy. Was alright at first, but then it got loud as hell, and started leaking. I left it open one time and woke up with a car full of snow (my fault :lol)... and based on the **** that has gone wrong with my car the sunroof would just be one more thing to break.
Both of those teams don't have very good depth in defence (Boston has Timmy and Chara I'll give them that) and both of them lack depth in offence. Don't get me wrong they are good teams, but being a Canucks fan aside, I'd still put them as the favourite for the cup. I wish we still had Malholtra though. Nice that they actually are playing Ballard too.
Stamkos isn't doing great either, and with the Sedin's playing like they are supposed to finally it's looking in our favour regardless of who wins Friday in my opinion.

Acey's car was a Friday car. Everybody just wanted off work so they got it out the door haha.
Sunroof is nice, they are fragile on the balts. I've had no issues with my car really so far that I haven't caused.

Not sure. The wheels will be the last thing to go, as I need the car right up until I get rid of it. Three weeks, tops. I'm very much leaning toward a Civic Si right now. *hides* However, I still have an eye open for a lower mileage LSJ, in which case I'll still probably sell the wheels to help with the big loss on a trade.
The tires are good for a 2.4, I can't break them loose at all, good in the cold, and they'll last a really long time. But you guys would roast 'em.

I intentionally sat in one at the new car show, an didn't like anything about them... but hey, the world is all about diversity right?
I'd encourage you to do LOTS of looking around, and plenty of seat time testing out cars.
Granted I don't know what kind of price range you're looking for, but I liked the interiors of;
Scion TC
Genisis Coupe
Golf GTi
If four doors is your thing, and you're centering more on used, I'd encourage you to at least glance at the Caliber SRT4 (should you find one in your price range)... they are made fun of on CSS, but they're great cars.
Going older, I also liked the RSX, but never sat in one...
Since you're single, maybe you could find a Solstice in your price range?
I'm a dyed in the wool domestic-coupe kinda guy;
The only time I have had a car that wasn't a domestic coupe, it was a 1981 Chev Malibu;
The thing was stupid mint, and I got it for a song, but it had two "extra" doors...
it was a nice car, gutless, but a nice car none the less...
And yes, I'll admit when I was looking (for pretty much all of 2009) I looked at the Challenger, and the Genisis coupe - but in the end found the GC to be too expensive for what you're getting, and couldn't justify the Challenger, no matter how I figured it...
but I love the Challengers sooo much...

drool...
It also has a 6 speed (personally I prefer my 5). I didn't like shifting ever 3 seconds haha.
Joel
My friend has one of these, I've driven it. It's a quick car for sure, but I gotta say it torque steers like nothing I've ever driven in my life and depending on what you want to do has a very tiny aftermarket support group.

the boost levels in first (and maybe second) are lowered...
That torque steer IMHO is cool - it's not like you cannot deal with it, but it eludes to a degree of unrefinement, which is characteristic of musclecars from days bygone;
I hope that once I start having fun with my Cobalt (and believe me I will - I mean I haven't become a dealer for trifecta for nothing!) that I start to see this...
BTW, my brother has repeatedly tooled CSS's all over the place in his C-SRT4.
Re: aftermarket
Where do you get this information?
From what I have seen there is more aftermarket for the C-SRT4 than the SS/TC...
Just yesterday my brother saw a C-SRT4 gettnig a Mopar (Dodge authorized; IIRC made by modern performance) catless exhaust system installed at the dealer...
My brother has the Mopar Stage1 (read: dyno proven 300whp, with full warranty), K&N, and the MPx dual exit exhaust...
It's for sure a bigger car, but it has some nice features, drives great, has gobs of power (a VERY different hp/tq curve than my Cobalt), and still gets good mileage...
If you're ok with our doors, the C-SRT4 is all win in my books.
I sent you a facebook message yesterday Jon.
But I like look the looks of the Gen coupe alot. I haven't sat in one, or looked them up or anything, just seen them driving. They look neat.

All mopar stuff is discontinued for the CSRT. There are very few websites that cater to it either. Realtune and MP are pretty much the only two besides a couple companies who make poly mounts (My buddy has been trying to find aftermarket for his btw is where I'm getting this. I've been trying to assist him). I'm not saying there is none, I'm saying it's small. Realtune does make a nice turbo swap kit though.
The SS/TC has ZZP as a big one, Treadstone, MPx now and many others making more every day. I doubt much new stuff will be coming out for the CSRT. There are even less of them than TC's.
As for Tq steer, I found it to be horrible compared to the cobalt. I'd much prefer it to be gone than be there. Once again, I'm not saying it's a bad car. Just my experiences with it. Also, don't do a muffler delete if anyone ever gets one. As for all cars, that thing is loud as hell haha.
