ya like everywhere but where the coil packs are has been sanded. right now im working on it with 120 grit because i was trying to get the pitting out. then my dad suggested sandblasting so im going that route

120 is too coarse dude, should have started at 500, takes a bit longer but you won't end up with deep scratches everywhere.

Hey!

You're back in town?

We should meet up!

I spent most of the day doing a power window motor swap in the GA - it went smoothly, then I went for a cruise and upon pulling into 7-11 for a slurpee the POS plastic thingy which is the "inbetween" for the window mechanism and the glass took a crap...

so took it back apart, (luckily found a spare in my mess of a garage), then upon reassembly realized that when I disassembled the whole guide setup I put the pivot on backwards!

So I ended up doing it three times!

I agree which is why I have not one but two mufflers...

As a matter of fact I took it off the road for roughly a year while I dragged my feet making a new exhaust... 80% of the time the car is probably only 3/4 of the noise it used to make... then I goose it an all hell break loose

Actually I used to have:
long tube header -> 2.5" pipe -> dynomax cross flow muffler (marketed for Grand Nationals and 1982-2002 F-bodies)

It was so loud I disconnected the muffler to see if it was doing anything... it was

So this time around I used only mandrel bent pipe that when to a dynomax "Y" after the rear axle, then reduced the pipe diameter (but tried to keep the same sectional volume), into two small body mufflers...

I am thinking of when I next take it apart (because it's not 100% done) of adding a resonator before the axle...

It's no rocket ship - but it's my fun weekend cruiser.
...and yes, it will kick the crap out of SUV's;
as a matter of fact yesterday afternoon some moron in a Jeep SRT8 gassed it beside me...
When it was over I had to shake my head because he didn't get ahead of me;
I mean that should tool me ~ if it can't he shouldn't even waste his gas.

I haven't lined up against many vehicles - but the biggest notch on my belt is an SSR (300hp version iirc)... to many it might not be much - but for a naturally aspirated 4 banger, it's an ego boost.

Last night I went for a cruise and a base model Cobalt passed me (going the opposite way) - which when cruising was at least three times as loud as me...

since it passed me on Ogden road going the other way I didn't get a good listen... only that it was loud at cruising speed...

If I had no muffler I probably wouldn't get three blocks without being pulled over;
it has been said by dirt track racers that the engine I use is the noisiest four banger ever - it's even louder than possibly any V8;
which might explain why when GM started de-tuning the engines for NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) the first thing to change was the exhaust ports (reduced in size)...

Why? - do you know a Cobalt that sounds like a "gay angry bees nest"?
(it was red iirc)

jordan, tighten the drain plug just a smudge and it will come right off, also use extra leverage and make sure the socket is on there good.

forget that crap... call me, then come over here and we'll take care of it tonight.

You're just going to get the "deer in the headlights" response anyway...

Why didn't you buy mobile1 like I said to? - it's on sale now anyway!?

btw the sale ends tomorrow just so everyone knows

trust me there is always a way to get it off, and if you have to hammer the socket on there there was something wrong with it to begin with.

the correct tool used in the first place (not saying you did anything) should slide right on without any force unless there is a huge amount of dirt and mud caked on it but even then you would clear that off before putting the socket on
