It's an aem uego or whatever. I've actually ran the wires to hook it up for the computer already as I was planning on having pickles datalog my car last summer. I do eventually want to run meth but I'll probably hold off until next year as it feels like I'm spending a ton of money lately.

Oh I have a question. I've been throwing a p0300 code since I upgraded to 60s. Is it possible to tune out the misfires or is that strictly a problem with the injectors /spark plugs

well if you figure out why your misfiring then you can tune it out. could be too much fuel or not enough, could be a weak spark, could be a bad coil. lots of causes for a random misfire

Check your plugs. That's usually the problem. Mine throws that and a lean code every now and again. Gonna change the plugs soon

They are tapped to .032 or whatever ottp recommends. If I was to re gap them would I go shorten or lengthen the gap?

.032 is good. You will not get rid of that code ever. Once and a while you will always throw it. I wouldn't concern yourself with it. Dialing in your maf will help

Uhave the ability to turn said code off tho right. I'd say it's not the smartest thing to do but even if it turns on I'm going to ignore it lol.

Yes - but there's a catch.

You either need to stick to strictly cleaning up the casting flaws, or know what you're doing - otherwise you can easily hurt your powerband;
basically you're changing the way air flows in your chamber and port, and of you go too big, you can essentially cause the air to stall out...

People might mock stock castings, but there's alot of R&D into the port design & shape - so unless you're going totally crazy (compression and cam changes for starters) I'd encourage you to stick to only cleaning up ports, or leaving it to someone who has a good idea of what they're doing...

If you want to talk to a guy who's been in the cylinder head business, and who will not BS you, I got a guy you could go talk to... he probably would know the best places in alberta to use as well.

you might be able to, but iirc that's the "random" misfire code;
it can be caused by a plethora of things unrelated to ignition...

yes, and yes.

this is why GM offered a ported exhaust manifold for the LE5 & LSJ... I think someone here was running one for a spell... iirc.

they can be a PITA to do a nice porting on ~ but unlike head porting, you'ld have to be a ROYAL screw up to goober something up on an exhaust manifold...

ya because you want all those gases gone, so you can make it pretty big. all i would do though is get it to gasket match, and try and get as deep as i can in it, smoothing it all out

But I'll just use my stocker. Thanks though.

Anyone down for a BBQ? My parents are going outta town next week, for a week so you guys could all come over for some grub, maybe catch the hockey game

He probably wouldn't actually. But he won't find out anyways. My brother won't care either, he probably would just end up going out with his co workers anyways.

But no kegger lol, I don't need **** getting broken lol

So I'm buying Joel's LSJ. But who would buy my car with 17 things fixed/replaced under warranty? I'm thinking nobody... any ideas on the best way to get rid of this?
