I'd like to hear a sound clip of his before I'd bother him. I'm still on the fence about dropping the Hahn or the longtube. It's a tough choice! Lol

I do have my hpt. Haven't really found the time to load it up and play with it

The only heat shield on the car is the one that runs under the middle tunnel. It does vibrate every now and again but nothing major.

Maybe a 3 inch to 2.5 inch to 3 inch adapter?? Lol

I just did a search and found a handful of reasons why you are raspy. None of them require getting rid of the header. We will have to spend some time troubleshooting when you are in town; we'll get it figured out.

Lol oh? If my computer was running properly I could do a search but my phone is all I got right now! I seen that the 3 inch pipe is why it's raspy the sound resonators too much and the airflow is too fast to take the rasp out before it leaves the resonator

Lol the more minds the better

Well bluelightning has a 14 inch magnaflow resonator with a walker quiet flow muffler on it and he said he still has rasp at 2500-3500 rpm but not on the top end

I still have it. ( hp tuners)

Meth does nothing to the motor. I sprayed heavy with 100 percent meth for 35000km and nothing was corroded at all. You aren't spraying that much

I was spraying a 9 gph nozzle at end with higher pressure so probably closer to 10-11 and it felt like a nitrous shot when it hit

Go to Calgary exhaust across from chinook. They have a 24 inch or 30 inch resonator

Also go to a 2.5 muffler. Won't cause restriction and will get rid of all rasp

I'm thinking that maybe going to a 2.5 inch flange on the flex section then back to the 3 inch would work

iirc he changed around three different mufflers before he found a good setup... he hated the way his car sounded after the long tube install too...

that's good that he got back to you...

HERE is his original thread when he was trying to find a solution...

Then HERE is his thread after he found a setup he liked...

Like mentioned in that second thread, four bangers are always going to be a compromise of some sort... which is why I just roll with it and call the GA plain old noisy.

A lot of the reading I did pointed to either poor seals on the gaskets or engine movement as the cause of rasp. I think having the exhaust fully welded from end to end and installing solid mounts would help...

it's kinda weird - seeing two videos of his car in the light... I've only ever seen it at night

Ya. I had a band clamp on the 3 inch 2 bolt adapter but the exhaust shoot welded the flange to the resonator. I guess the joints could be causing rasp. I do have the issue of the exhaust hitting the car when I downshift from second to first if I don't do a slow transition! Lol
