wanna hear an extremely funny story about rene's car. its used to be my brothers car and ran 16.1's all the time. rene can't drive it and he's got duel exhaust and a massive sub box in the trunk. it is no suprise that you beat him that bad lol.

my and my brother raced probably a good 50 races and everytime he would be me by a constant .3 of a second. mind you he had almost 35,000km on his and i had 5.

iirc my first time running @ Race City (circa 2007), I pulled a 16.3 - with a leaky rear main that was soaking oil my clutch;
This past year I run a best of 15.25.

my best e/t is a 14.4 when factoring for Densitly Altitude correction...

Colin said he likes my GA, and told me he saw me running one or two times @ Race City last year...

IMHO, that's pretty good for a 20yo no power adder n/a four banger...
One of my funnest kills from this past year was a buddy in his SSR - I beat him two or three times in a row...

no I haven't, but as I've understood it, vehicles like 'vettes are intended to be owned by people who can/will pay for all work to be done by someone else

Both him & Nate said his car was faster than mine - the kid even took it further in person by talking up his car infront of my brother after I was being very courteous to him at Race City - so before agreeing to race, I made him agree to three races...

wow, this made my night!

what kind of exhaust are you currently running?

I want to eventually have something like this:
http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=31791

ok... changing the subject slightly

Are LSJ Cobalt wheels worth anything?

I found someone with a set, and made a deal over the phone last night for them, but later found information suggesting they won't clear my brembos - my only known coblat wheel options at this time appear to be LNF or LE5 Cobalt wheels...
Do any of you know someone who would want LSJ wheels enough to swap, or swap plus cash for LE5 wheels??

I'm going to double check that they in fact don't fit, in which case I'd see that as a deal breaker...

SS/NA, SS/SC = 5 x 110

SS/NA = 17" Wheel
SS/SC = 18" Wheel (clears brembos)

that would be the pimp...

save me from ordering cheap aftermarket rims for winter rubber.
but this thread (no pics posted btw) seems to indicate otherwise;

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/08-10-ss-turbocharged-general-discussion-152/2008-cobalt-ss-brembo-brakes-min-17-wheels-100376/

posts 14/15, then 49/59 touched on this;
then again, no pics provided, and the last time I relied on someone else's mechanical skill's I came out looking like a fool...

Jr;

I did see Nate's car, but quite frankly cannot recall what it sounded like - I do know that the turbo does a pretty good job of muffling the exhaust note as is... but when my exhaust is changed, I would want the duals look, and have something resembling a stock setup.
My brother bought a Dual kit for is C-SRT4, sounds and looks great - most people don't even notice that it's not stock...

I would definitely consder a custom setup, as long as it adheres to those rules...

I used to have an exhaust shop that I went to in town but the owner/manager has picked up a trait from his 2nd income;
Namely he charges more, for every subsiquent visit.
The last time I went to his shop, I swore I would never be back... it's too bad he burnt that bridge though, he can do nice work.

jon, the duals was on renes car the le5, nate had a muffler delete done to his turbo. from what the turbo guys are saying this is the best way to go. it did sound good. rene's on the other hand was not so good. i guess that is the diff in lsj and le5. lol so if i was you go down to a muffler shop get that muffler hacked off lol. the one muffler shop we all seem to like is down across the way from chinook center. i believe it is called calgary muffler. they do real excelent work for a reasonable price.

hey guys. as far as i know the 17's and 18's will not work without a spacer to clear the brembo's. now the general consensus is spacer's are a no no. there aren't many rims out there for the TC at the moment that will clear the brembo's.

and travis you are right, those are the dimensions for the rims.

Here's the old thread seeing how this group would respond to this sig... and ultimately, the consensus was that it was cool;

lol gee thx al, fart cans rock lol. ya i agree they didnt sound or look as good on his as to mine. wierd eh!!! as for jonathan lol hahaha if you want to have a listen or see how mine turned out then just give me a ring. i gave you my work # yesterday in that pm. remember there is a bit of customizing to do duals with sc or tc. specially with the rear skirt. we actually cut my factory skirt and did some filling in to make it look like it was stock. i must say it turned out not bad.

I don't know that Rene doesn't like me... Just saying that he hasn't talked to me since I beat him all three out of the three agreed races...

You guys want another laugh;
Nate said that my beating Rene by a good second "wasn't much"...

x10,000

Before the race(s), Nate told me I had to "respect" Rene's car...
For the record, I never knocked his car (I have always liked all incarnations of the Cobalt SS*), I only said I didn't really see it as a challenge or the kind of car I would take on debt to own - yet still he (and Rene) insisted that Rene would spank me.

(*EDIT: I think I prove this point HERE)

Can't blame either for trying though...

It's too bad he took it poorly at the time... I mean, it's not like I'm goign to throw a race just to be nice - especially after someone talks up their car, and says he will beat me...
Hopefully he's over it by now.
