Calgary - random talk thread
Oh **** that's too bad, hope he gets everything sorted out and glad to hear he isn't hurt.
my only nagging question, is how the heck did he find ice on city streets yesterday??
they seem to be dry as a bone everywhere I have looked/driven... must have been "Murphy's Law" in full effect.

by that do you mean one's tendency to have a heavy foot?
don't know him too well... met up once, he took me for a quick boot in his car...
seems like a nice enough guy though... I just figured that I didn't see exactly eye to eye with him (re: my opinion of "paid for 180hp Grand Am" > "$20k+ 2008 Cobalt Sport" or the like) because of an "age" thing...

that and you guys didn't know him from when he had his elantra. he was always ripping the ebrake around corners and ****. i know he did calm down alot when he got the TC but still. and i feel bad for him because he did love the car and we all know **** can go bad in a split second
i was the same when i had my cavalier didnt really care too much but now it is totallydifferent cause after you put alot of work into your car you think different. not saying he didnt care about his car or anyhting just it shocks me they way some people drive their brand new cars in this city.
not to kick him when he is down, but i dont think he cared enough for the car. you have to respect the power of a turbo like steve says **** can go wrong in a split sec. most of know the history of him and this car. lol he didnt respect it too much. glad to hear that he is ok but in the same breath i feel that it is for the better.

The one time I met him in person, we met up at the A&W off Deerfoot & Glenmore, and his friends with LSJ & LE5 Cobalts came out...
I thought the LSJ cobalt was burnt orange (or what ever the colour is called) but could be wrong...
You have no indication as to what you drive... at least that I can see...
the lsj is justin, the white le5 is rene, steve has a ss/na black, you may have met him sometime not sure
steve on a side note please dont say he will be getting another one lol, then i will end up redecalling it lol geeeeee that will suck for me lol.

Glad to see that there is a site where Calgarians can meet up & talk, imho SRT4OA is a joke, CFC is a joke...
So far this seems to be the friendliest group of Calgary/Alberta car enthusiasts online!

he abused it quite regulary. he was going above and beyond agressive controlled driving and just plain being an idiot. the last month or so he did start to calm down a great deal but like me and i'm sure most other gear heads we like to break it open once and a while.
I know what you mean about breaking it open every once and a while but you gotta pick and choose when and where you do it. I don't know the guy or his driving skills but in my opinion, coming off a exit ramp isn't the most ideal place to "Cut her loose".
umm no they usually aren't, summer time with the right tires is a little differen't story but even then it better be a ramp that you know every last inch of and its mother lol
lol that's true. I'd still only do about 60 on a ramp in the summer. I do recall there being ice under the over passes on the merge lane. That was on the 23rd and it was 9 at night. but that still shouldn't be an excuse
ya i think the fastest i've ever taken an off ramp is 120 but this was the exit coming from 22x onto macleod. anyone who has driven that knows that the damn thing is all straight and i was trying to beat traffic as i needed to get over to the other exit that was right there lol

. we haven't all gotten together in a while but we still like to hang out and keep in touch when we can.
