Crosses fingers that you get one with *at least* a single garage

I still don't have much other than cars...

I actually had more old furniture, but gave much of it away before the first term of the mortgage was up...
I was sick of having all this "crap" in my basement (which was my living area)

good for you!

so then if it's a double attached, that means you'll have a free parking spot?

385??

can't that get you into a single house?

probably something like what I have...

I'm pretty sure my place isn't even worth that.

EDIT:

I just did a search for 200-375 for detached with a garage and yeilded 648 hits!

EDIT#2:

DUDE!! ~ there's even listings near me

we went over that today and I think the variable was prime minus .65. don't quote me on that as it was 7 am and 1 cup of coffee for me during that conversation

Sounds about right if it's variable and a closed mortgage.

wow...

I know we've talked on this ... I don't want to come off as a nay-sayer, so I'll leave it at that...

congrats on the fact that you're going to get your own place!

When me & my borther got into the housing market we could only be pre-approved for $100/ea ~ so went in together (written up kinda like a spousal mortgage)...
he makes bad jokes about it now, but it wasn't too bad... especially since i was "locked" in the basement 7/8th of the time...

EDIT:
http://www.realtor.ca/propertyDetail...Key=-169213815

this is fun

EDIT#2:

This one's a 'richy-rich' house...

http://www.realtor.ca/propertyDetail...ey=-1098230321

the ones which back onto the park are normally way over 400

I also like stuff in the neighborhood of acadia.

so basically you're willing to take a gamble on the chance that hte hospital brings local property values up?

it's your call...

as long as you don't rush anything, and you're not second guessing yourself...

It's long been my opinion that 9.8 times out of 10 a detached residence is a smarter move...

But I'm guessing you've put alot of thought into this...

congrats!
