Fffffffuck. I was backing down my parents driveway and I was halfway off the curb. So I got out to see if I was going to rub the curb. And since my back wheel was lifted off the ground when I got out I think I bent my car since now my door will not really shut properly now
Did you try to message Ella on FB?
(Just sent you a message/link)
Will, I hope your car is ok...
but I don't know if I can exactly wrap my head around what you posted... opening the door should under no condition cause your car to twist...
probably nice work, and a fair ammount of effort, but that doesn't mean i have to like it.
IMHO that guy wrecked a nice Solstice GXP - and proved he has money to burn.
False alarm. Door just partially fell off tho. None of the 4 bolts holding the door to the car were tight. I have noticed before that my drivers door opens wayy to wide so when the door is fully open it pulls on the hinges. I guess opening the door on such a weird angle just messed the alignment up...
I didn't think it would but I did only have 3 tires on the ground (tripod style) which is a lot of stress on the car. I know the Balt has a strong body but... I wouldn't have been overly surprised lol

Also does anybody know this guy? I'm sure someone here does since he's been a member since 2005

because its $150 to get those rims redone, so i went to the internetz and found many how to's on how to fix curb rash.
all they do is sand it down a bit, then use bondo or jb weld to fill in the gouges, sand, prime, paint then clearcoat.
the rims look brand new when they are done

I would not add any 'topical' product...
$150/ea huh?
and that's with the whopper discount too eh?
I know that you can make them look better than they now look... but I already told you that...
have you had your brother dismount the old tires yet?

the rim repairs on painted wheels are great, i had 3 scuffef on the bmw i bought and they fixed them as part of the deal with me buying it and you cant tell at all and i have polished them, pressure washed- no issues
i wouldnt use body filler, but the metal filler they make.
i just finished using a wire brush to get all the brake dust off, followed by bug and tar remover to get the rest of the crud off, and i took a metal file to the lip of the rims and got all the burrs off. all i need to do now is fill the cracks.
about the tires..... no he hasnt yet, i cut myself on one of the cords tonight. but he is going to see what time he gets off work tomorrow, then do them if he can.
When fountain tire fucked my polished wheel and sent it out to get fixed it came back mint. U couldn't even tell they were messed up except for 1 tiny spot. But the patches are the exact same colour and everything.
yea but thats professionals. im doing this one by myself...
im just going to repaint the whole rim because the curb rash is all the way around the rim. so i just gotta find a color close to OEM.
