So since there seemed to be quite a few people interested in the "Cool Cars Cruising For Cancer"

I thought I'd start a new thread for it...

I've registered and started collecting pledges already, I think it would be sweet for the Edmonton and Calgary CobaltSS.net Drivers to come out and Represent the forum and their rides to the fullest...

Necessary Information:

Who: Calgary & Edmonton Drivers
What: Cruising for Cancer
When: August 26th, 2007 9am - 6 pm
Where: Calgary McMahon Stadium (Edmonton Drivers will drive down with the other Edmonton participants earlier - check website for details).

All Forms & Registration etc are on the website....

Anyway I'm starting this thread to get an idea / open discussion on how many members would like to join us and who all is attending etc.

COME OUT AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE COBALTSS.NET CREW!!!

PS: I am making a "Official" looking letter to give to your friends & family & post at your local supermarket etc. to drum up further support etc.

 

Hahaha there is already an old thread about this...its a sticky...but a new one is good i guess....get a list going of people who are actually dedicated to going, where they are from and if they are registered yet or not.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

So I've spoken with one of the local Organizers - here is the scoop:

1) Are there still spots available and are we able to register as a group?

There are still spots available... Group registration is not an option due to the shear response this event has had... As such they are suggesting that anyone interested register as an Individual.

If you are collecting pledges please contact James Foster @ 303-3532 - he is the contact at the Cancer society and will arrange for you to get a copy of the pledge form (this is to ensure no fraudulent canvassing occurs).

2) Aside from the Edmonton trip to Calgary is there any plans for a drive throughout Calgary?

There is a planned departure from McMahon stadium driving north on 16th Ave to 22 X then trough Cochrane and back to McMahon via Crowchild (aka Highway 1A). This trip will be RCMP escorted and they have arranged to block one lane of traffic for the procession on the highway.

3) With a group like ours are we able to book a specific spot so we can all park together?

Due to the shear volume of participants they are unable to block off specific spots as such I asked him if we would be ok to bring like 2 pylons and rope and rope off a few spots for our cars - he said sure thats fine - someone would have to be there early to do this though - ANY VOLUNTEERS?

**On this point DOES ANYONE HAVE ACCESS TO LIKE A BANNER MACHINE or Large Printing or something? I was thinking we could really plug the CobaltSS site but putting a banner infront of our group of cars or hell if someone was really abitious and wanted to do one by hand that could work too... (thoughts?)**

So thats the news so far... What I would like to do is get a list of everyone who has already registered and those who have not and set things up further from there to fully coordinate this.
