I must have missed it or not read it properly. That sucks. I think that anyone stepping up to organize an event should be supported. I mean we can all make suggestions to make the event better but flaming ideas is just terrible.

If I were any good at planning anything I would do it but i'm horrible at making plans. Mark, I'd say just get an idea from a group of guys and run with it. if people want to come along then that's their choice. I for one can't commit right now but I would sure go for just about anything if someone took the time to make a plan.

am i the only one with nuts? well seems i have upseted people by having a set.... well too bad... i refuse to cater to it anymore.....

ya I see what you're saying I wouldn't be catering to anyone either. I still think the simplest would just be for everyone to go to the super chevy show but thats just me

Hey guys,

I've gotten a few PM's about starting some planning for a meet. Now I don't know if I can swing Castrol Raceway again (I will try) depending on the number, however what we should start with are possible dates. June is a full month for many of us as I have read, so why not try for July or August? I'm going to start a quick poll on this and see where we go from there. If there isn't enough interest in a week (meaning if you know of someone who has been lurking/not active on the forums, PM/email the **** out of them), either someone else can take the lead on this or we'll forgo a meet for this year.

i think your best chance is a multi platform event....
maybe even get the portable dyno guy from the grove to show up.

or just stick to your own city, and go for wings at BP's or something.

why listen to me.....i dont own a balt anymore.....i just see it parked at my house.....

If at the very least, we should pick a location to meet at, and all cruise to Castrol for an afternoon of races and hanging out. Then maybe cruise back and have a beer on a patio somewhere.

I used to do that with the Jbody group and a few others, and it was always laid back and fun.

ok, rather than comment there I would need to explain my weekeds I did not select;

weekend of June 15th = thinking of poping up in Winnipeg ~ for fathers day.

weekends of august 17th & 24th = I'm pretty sure I'm going to be in winnipeg for around the 26th ~ my my uncertainty has me selecting both of those as a no-go...

I would love to see something happen.

I wasn't around for the 2009 meet;
I didn't get ample warning for the 2010 meet - but aside from the pre-event whining, sounded like a great local ect to me...

Since Calgary doesn't have any track or what ever I don't know if this would be a good place to meet;
But we do have a detail shop in the south end of town which the guy might be willing to do dyno day(s) ~ assuming it's arranged far enough in advance...
if for some reason it happens here, I can accommodate people... assuming they have sleeping bags!

I Think Castrol would be a great venue ~ if it could be swung...

I personally don't have anything against meeting with other "tuners" ~ I would just hope that people would show up to have fun, and not get butt hurt if a "brand x" car beats theirs... that goes both ways...

So far we've got 10 people interested in the poll (Doodle: CobaltSS.net Western Canada Cobalt Meet 2012) and the best date is the weekend of Friday, August 3 - 9 people have said they can make that date.

Any other takers speak now! That's certainly not enough to book the strip at Castrol, but it's certainly enough to do Drum or Cypress Hills or something.
