craziest thing... yesterday on the 101 i saw a really slow black cobalt and a white EVO that looked a bit like a cobalt and some crazy chick in the passenger seat waving her arms around. *waits for Krautsalat, Whitty, or Missymac to chime in* haha.

I waved ONE* arm

met a guy with an srt10 ram lives near me. pretty cool guy we're gonna cruise sometime. on another note i heard pykies new 20psi tune is decent. my buddy in a wrx with some work done to it lost to him the other day. apparently he was making 217hp at 8psi and now he's running 20psi? wonder what he's making now.

P.S. anyone any good at changing front rotors on a 90 accord? i hear it's a bitch of a job and the honda stealership wants 2.5 hours labour plus $109 per rotor and $89 for pads lol **** on them. i said that's a bit expensive for pads and rotors plus labour isn't it? almost as much as i paid for the car... he said ya but they're honda parts not crappy aftermarket junk. haha ya bud... 90% of the **** out there is made by the same factory and just stamps it differently for each manufacturer. most metal parts nowadays are made with crappy steel.

Did he have a QC or RC? any mods? I'm booked in for the dyno tomorrow. Guys on the forums said i wont hit decent numbers until i get a tune. I dont really care about the peak numbers, just wanna see a nice good powerband.

front rotors and pads on the accord are a breeze and should only take an hour tops.

Front brakes are easy, its the rear that is a bitch since the rear calibers (if that car even has calibers) require a special tool to open them.

Yeah they still aren't that bad. When I was a mechanic for a living I bought the tool for $11 at Napa and it only takes maybe 15 mins more to do the rear. IIRC they have set screws on the rotors too. If that's the case you'll probably need an impact driver too(basically a screwdriver that turns the bit when you hit it with a hammer) or you'll need to drill the set screw out.. You can get it with a screwdriver if you're really lucky but I wouldn't get your hopes up. Easiest and cheapest thing to do is just drill the set screw out. You don't need them anyways. The wheel will hold the rotor tight just like every other car without a set screw.

Im not knocking it , i just thought the lnf's would put out alittle more then that ?? But like i said, I'm no expert on the lnf. I guess they weren't under rated like the ss/sc......

The numbers are kinda of low, don't know why. But a stock LNF usually dyno's around the 230's i believe it is for HP. Not quite sure the torque.

ya i had 228whp and 219 wtq stock... close to what chris hit with his car in stock form as well.

i'd like to attempt the front rotors and pads on my accord but i've heard so many horror stories... and the fact that the dealership quoted 2.5 hours... if anyone can and has done it easily and could help me do it it'd be apreciated... im not even sure i have the right tools :/

So just out of sheer curiousity. Would it be safe to say that a ss/sc with gm stage 2 should be pretty much equal to a bone stock Lnf ?? In both Hp and trq ? And possible in there quarter times also ??

Dont get to hooked up on dyno numbers, you could dyno 215 on that dyno and 230 on the dyno out here. But to answer some of your questions. All dynos normally read lower then what the car is putting to the wheels, i have not yet seen a person say "i want to hit xxxhp" and come off the dyno at or past that mark. From the dyno runs i seen of a stock SS/TC 230hp 220trq are the avg of what you will see.

My guess with big stu's low numbers is (and correct me if im wrong guys who own the ss/tc) is the learn down feature. He can add all the mods he wants but the feature will take the power and infact since he is changing some of the parts it could rob some of the power since the feature is screwing it up.

iiunno about number wise, but a ss/sc with stage 2 can take a stock ss/tc. One of the cruises i was on with you guys back home, andrew and kevin did a pull from i think 30kmh on the highway, Kevin was able to pull out in front and his only mod was a CAI. That being said, i cant sit here and say a ss/sc with stage 2 does have more power then a stock sstc...ss/sc get boost right away and the sstc has to wait which was the reason why kevin was able to get out in front.

that's true and also the injen probably isn't helping matters either apparently when tuned they add a decent chunk of top end HP but u sacrifice like 15 lbs of wtq in the mid range (and that's all when tuned if not tuned id imagine ud see loss if nothing else)

Well you also gotta take in the factor that the dyno may not be calibrated correctly. Take me for example, did a dyno today that the dealership has....man they do not know how to calibrate that.

First run: 253hp @3000rpm and 400lb trq at 3000rpm
Second run: 280hp @ 3500rpm and 415lb trq at 3500rpm
Third run: 333hp @ 4100rpm and 420lb trq @4100

Dyno kept hitting its limit of how fast it could spin...anyone see anything wrong with those numbers...cuz right away i did...i have NEVER seen peak hp and peak torque hit at the same rpm, especially on all 3 runs. On top of that the highest he went was 4100rpm...my rev limit is 5500rpm and on the graph on the computer you could see the hp still climbing when the dyno stopped.
