April 27 - 29 West Coast Tattoo & Culture Show 2012
Just throwing this out there for people that may not know about it. It is a weeekend of lots of fun. Get to meet a lot of good people, artists and people who like ink and the culture. You can meet an artist from all over the world and get inked on the spot. Last year my wife got a killer peice on her back from a great Korean Artist. There is lots to do besides getting tattoed. There is art for sale, clothes, jewelry and last year they had rollergirls demostrations and i think a burlesque girls/show, or was that the year before? I can't remember lol. Anyway, if you get work done they have awards at the end of the day for different tatts (best portrait, best coverup etc.) Check out the link below if you are interested. It is being held at the Boulevard Casino in Coquitlam. I think I will be going on the Saturday.

I have an appointment in May to get my one sleeve almost completed. When I go to the tattoo show I get to start on my other sleeve. yay!!
Last year they didn't have anyway to print out or resize anything so if you do go make sure to bring source drawings or pictures for the artist to work off. It'll make things easier, hopefully this year they have all that ready to go.

If I remember correctly the Japanesse guys were charging around $180 - $220 an hour. My wife wanted some cherry blossoms and they wanted $200 to do 2 on her foot.

There are local guys that will charge a lot less. The Japanesse guys were from 2 years ago and they have to charge more to pay for flight, hotels stay etc. just talk talk to a few guys tell them your idea and see what they say.
