Dealers with Stage tuning experience

I was wondering if any of the guys in the lower mainland know a dealership that has experience with the stage kits. I bought my car at preston and despite having a great service manager there parts department had no clue what i was talking about, and the service department has only done one or two installs. Also if people could tell me how much i should expect to pay for stage two installed in Vancouver that would be great.

Retail should be aproxx 1170+tax based on 2 hrs install ($960 retail for kit, 210 for 2 hrs labour)
I would like to pay 1000 out the door, is this possible has anyone payed this or less in the GVA.

I am going to talk to the service manager at Preston next week and I will bring up the fact that I could send him a lot of stage and exhaust customers if he can cut us a fair deal.
if so would anyone be interestred on gettin there exhaust or stage kit installed there?

Canada Stage 2 Installer

Cornell Chev. (now Victoria Motor Products) 250-385-5777 sold me my Stage 2 kit. Chris in parts new all about it and specializes in performance parts. Sean in service is a gre at help in getting the work organized. They have two mechanics who know what they are doing with this. The installation was so simple I did it myself and just had them reflash the system.

Don't feel bad, my dealer (sunshine coast) quoted $960 for the kit and 5 hours for install. I just about **** my pants. I did some homework and told them if it takes longer than 2.5, it's their nickel. On a different note however, my car has been sitting in Vancouver (18 miles away via ferry) for almost two weeks while "Allied" tries to save a few bucks on shipping at my expense (waiting for a full load). If GM continues to deal with a shipping company that ***** an otherwise pleasant buying experience, It will be the last product I purchase from them. Afterall, any savings on the already ridiculous $1200 shipping fee.......will be pocketed by those *********** anyway.
About the upgrade? I'm nervous too. Nobody seems to know a damn thing about this car at the dealer.........except me! Sure they they preform duramax deisel re-flashes all the time but I can see the techy re-torquing my injectors 100 ft/lbs into my aluminum head!
Dammit the more I think about it, the more pissed-off I get. Time for bed.

Hey, I am in Nanaimo and I was scared that no one on the Island could do this properly. Will these guys install a kit I buy from CrateEngine Depot? I dont really want to buy it at the dealership and pay rediculous markups. Also, does anyone know if this kit is warrantied if it is bought say online at crateenginedepot.com BUT installed by the dealer?

Thanks, we should hook up soon, there are 0 SS's around my area.

I'm not 100% on this, but since the part is a GM part and you're getting an authorized GM mechanic to install it, I'd put my cards on the table as it being covered to the extent of whatever is expressed by the part.

Also, I'm pretty sure I've seen your blue balt driving around. I'm in a Silver '06 SS/SC. (And I also live in Nanaimo)

Calll Chris Lane at Victoria Motor Products 250-385-5777 and ask for a price. he sold my syage 2 at a price competitive with CrateEngines without the shipping hassle. Then ask for Shawn Dodge in service, same number to arrange for the install. The insatall is straight forward and you can do it yourself. VMP will charge an hours labour to reflash the ECM. You can drive the car without the reflash but you will get a code for exhaust too rich and lousy gas mileage. VMP has two mechanics who are up on performance issues. VMP (Cornell and before that Morrison's) has been very good to me as I have been buying cars from them for 36 years.
