GM would not be happy.

Are you talking HPTuners re: the flash?

I am considering buying the GM stage 2 kit w/ 2.8" pulley that ricky1217 has for sale. so basically if i don't buy for GM and have them install and reflash it i could be screwed for warranty???????

no, you can buy his kit, and install everything but the flash yourself, Take it to the dealer and have them install the flas, there are the only ones with the dowload, so they have too.

His kit doesn't come with the stage 2 flash. He says it has to be a custom flash/ tune.

Yes, exactly what they said, I have the stage 2 instructions right in front of me, The reflash is only good for one specific vehicle. So you will need to find a company that can provide you with a reflash. Or go to a local shop for custom tuning.....Here is a link to the guy I bought it from.....
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/parts-66/gm-stage-2-a-27777/

Now as for warranty, it is hard to say, depends on the dealer, but if you ever need to go back to stock, it should be easy to. I am pretty sure some of the supporting vendors that do mail in reflashes will tune your PCM back to stock if need be for free if you buy a reflash from them. It is a little risky but that is a risk you have to take doing any mods.
A new GM stage 2 kit goes for about +/-600USD plus shipping. Plus to maintain the factory warranty, GM will need to install this whole kit and do the reflash, add about 2-4hrs depending on the dealer, some charge more than others. IMO I dont think its worth it, but that is up to you.
You will probally save abit of money and see better gains going this way. I have already gotten a few offers, just waiting for a response so this kit might not last to long. I want to try to keep this in canada so shiping is cheaper, but all the other guys are from the US. So I would be very happy if you bought this kit from me......Let me know if you have any questions or feel free to ask anyone on this site for a second opinion.

Good luck
Rick

If HPT is used (which it has too cause there is no other way) the stock file is saved so going back to stock as as easy as pie.
