I am selling my 2006 Audi S4 equipped with the 4.2L V8 and 6 speed manual transmission. I am asking $14,895 and will entertain any offers. Currently, has 129,xxx miles and oil changes were done every 4,000 miles religiously with Mobil1 0W-40 oil. This car has new Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, new ceramic Akebono brake pads and new high-carbon Centric rotors. The car was recently aligned and all wheels are balanced properly. It's a beast in the snow, especially with snow tires.

Have the timing chains been done?

 

To my knowledge, the timing chains have not been replaced. During my ownership of the vehicle, I never experienced any symptoms that the earlier 4.2L in the 2002-2005.5 (B6) S4's had with the timing componenets. Audi did update the timing guides of the B7 (2005.5-2009), which is why I bought a 2006.

Other preventative maintenance items I addressed while owning the vehicle: new clutch, serpentine belt, tensioner, and idler pulley, new valve cover gaskets, oil valley pan and oil filter housing gaskets, new engine mounts and snub mount. I always changed the oil every 4k miles with Mobil1 0W-40, which is one of the only oils that meets Audi's strict oil specifications.

It has brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 tires and a fresh oil change. Please let me know if anyone would like more pictures or a test drive. Carfax and detailed maintenance history are available.

 

Big fan of the V-8 S4's. This looks like a great example of one.

 

Thanks! It's really a great car, going to be sad to see it go. The V8 has an amazing exhaust note, nice burble at idle, refined but pronounced while accelerating, and no drone on the highway. I love cruising around in the summer with the sunroof open and windows down, the V8 is addictive.

GLWS, my buddy had an S4 wagon in blue and it was a gorgeous car, blast to drive. I've always loved the sound of that engine. Essentially a R8 V8 in a normal sedan package. Rare in manual too, makes it that much more awesome.

 

Bump. Need to sell in the next 2 weeks, big price drop from NADA. Now asking $10,495.

Has extra set of winter wheels/tires with 85% tread left that can be included in the deal. Fresh inspection until June 2016, needed nothing to pass.
