I understand what you mean about the mods, but it just seems crazy to me that you can put a 2k dollar wheel/tire package on it, $400 exhaust, $800 hood, Recaros, and alot more and the value goes DOWN.. lol. That's crazy.. Slightly understandable.. To a point.. But still crazy none the less..
Well, it doesn't make sense when you're into modding, but those sorts of things automatically eliminate about 50% of the people or more that would be looking to buy a 2.4 automatic.

Very true. The 2.4 it's self kinda did that to it's self because it's not as slow or common as the 2.2, but it's not as fast or rare as the s/c.. Most people wanting a Cobalt will want the 2.2 or the 2.0.. Most people don't even know about the 2.4..

A lot of people do, but the majority of people that I see driving them outside of members from this site......are either females in their mid-20s or older people. It has slightly classier looks than the base model without the man pedal deterrant that the SS/SC has.

True story. I wanted an s/c, but at that time I couldn't wait, and s/c's were still hard to come by..

just to throw mine out there. i had an 06 2.4 with 34k on it. i put it all back to stock well minus exhaust and the little interior stuff. i ended up getting 12k for trade in. with clutch getting low and a coat hanger holding the exhaust up cuz my regular one broke lol. glad they looked over it before the coat hanger incident.

Not from what I've seen. In fact, I've noticed mostly younger guys. There are 3-4 of them in my area. There was George and myself as well as AWB. There was another one at my old work place that was a young kid.

You must just only notice the ladies...

No I'm talking in general from what I've seen. There are 5 in Forest Hills right around me. 3 are late 20s to early 30s females, the other two are guys 50+. One of the workers and 2 of the residents now at my grandmother's retirement community have them too.

It all depends. Still the majority of people don't want to buy a car that's been modded, even if it's only cosmetic. My uncles had a REALLY clean, nicely done (for a refrigerator looking contraption) Scion Xb sitting on their lot for a year and a half. People would come look, but it had a little lip/wing sort of thing (like the RK 3 piece) on the back, nice wheels, low pro tires, and a nice "touring" type exhaust. NO one would touch it.

I wonder how much those people that used to come to Irwin got for their "customized" 2.4 remember them?

One could describe them as funny. You could also probably go for "inbred" as well...

Those were the ones that lived right there in Jeanette and debadged the 2.4 so they could put the emblems on their front door.
