2010 LSJ/LNF throwdown

2010 LSJ/LNF THROWDOWN
The Year of the Next Big Step...
No Shop Cars Please....OWNED by SHOP and/or car w/ unavailable products esp EMPLOYEE cars
FWD LSJ/LNF Only.....
Anything goes....Supercharger, Turbo, Nitrous, Bring it....

2009 was the year of the LSJ. With 6 of the top 10 LSJ cars, and the #1 spot showing the true potential of the LSJ being twincharged and running an impressive 11.09@134mph, the only thing to do this year, is push the bar higher, take that next big step. I'm banking on a 10sec pass for sure, and possibly a 9sec pass. I know of a few cars going to auto trans, and there a ton of cars that are doing internal work. No reason for there not to be a ton of low low 12sec cars and 11sec cars on the list this year with a few 10sec passes and hopefully a 9sec pass.

Can we get a definition of "Shop car" by you set now before there is more confusion. I always saw a, "Shop car: as: A car built by a shop to test and promote their products for profit or to race competitively. Some others may define it differently. I'd would just like to see the clear definition before hand. Or, maybe we can allow them to run in out little competition, again.

I see a shop car as any car with parts designed by a shop to showcase the potential that is not avail to the public and used by inhouse cars. Now if say, CC08 had a custom intake mani built for his type S cobalt, that would not count as a shop car. Employees of vendors should have their own listing.

Fack. I lost out of the top 10 last year. Oh well.

I'm gonna try and take something in the top 5 this year.

Turbo swap in the works. Pushing 400+ on race trim.

It's simple. Shops ARE pushing the envelope. Shop cars/employee cars should be classified as professional. They are show casing the parts the shop has/makes.

Individuals should compete with individuals.

**Stu beat me to it**

they have access to way more funds, testing, machinery, etc. its simply not a fair competition.

please do not take this as a hate on zzp thing though. any vendor attempting new things is good for community. the last thing we need is companies just copying each other. ott and zzp are doing good things for the cobalt community, and 2010 is going to show it.

I plan on having my LNF in the top 10... I have been saving and I have some major plans in the works... just wont be till the end of the year

But I do plan to atleast see mid to low 11's possibly even a very high 10.... but its not only my goal to get that, I also plan to build for road course's aswell... wish me luck because I'm doing it all on my own with my limited knowledge...lol

how bout this?

I'm going to make a seperate thread with a few different options of voting to determine what a shop car is. Some of the definitions will be VERY CLOSELY related, so be careful what you choose. I'll let the voting run for the entire month of January since there shouldn't be any drag runs during this first month of the year anyways, and the poll will close on Jan 31st, then we'll have our definitive answer on what a shop car is AS A FORUM, not with each person's own interpretation.
