Angry Bad Night at the Track

Ok. So I get to Infineon Raceway.. And I immediately run a 14.1 @ 99mph on my first run, then on my second I run a 14.03 @ 99mph.. Then 3rd run of the night I pull a pretty decent 2.1-60ft. and was well on my way to a 13 second pass.. and i hop once at the top of 1st and hit 2nd perfectly.. And my clutch slipped.. 100% went NOwhere. Tried grabbing in 3rd and it was exactly the same thing (Exactly like putting it in neutral and revving). Then I let off.. Hit the brakes and slowly grabbed 4th and cruised past the finish line with a 19.4 @ 57mph. Then, 4th run I dial in at 13.9.. And launch and hit a decent 2.20-60ft. (a few hundreths better than my first 2 runs) and hopped a couple times at the top of first and the SAME exact s**t. 17sec pass @ 63mph taking it easy. F**K these stock clutches I swear. Whatever I guess everyone has to have a bad track experience. Thanks for reading anyway

At least your axles are in good shape.

I hear you on the clutch slip. I had a defective one installed and after I drove the 2.5 hours to the track for a $100 all day test and tune, all the clutch did was slip. You just have to grin and bear it and then move on. (Meaning you get a different clutch lol)

I know man I hate it. I got 2nd place trophy 3 weeks ago with 350+ cars there running CONSISTENT 14.0s. One was at 88mph on the brakes pretty hard. And now I'm nowhere near consistent with this clutch. Sucks man.

Yea, is your sig up to date? I did respond to your PM and invest cash into a new clutch/flywheel combo before anything else.

14.0 @ 100mph 2.1 60ft should of been more like a 13.8 or so. Stock I ran a 14.2 @ 100mph with a 2.2 60 ft. Seems like you can launch decent.

Yeah man my launches are pretty decent but a slipping clutch doesnt exactly compliment good launches.. Haha. And the 14.0 would be a 13.8 maybe 13.9 at the least at another track. Just because at this dragstrip everybody tends to trap in between 1 and 3 mph slower than they "should" (Head wind and an "iffy" uphill disadvantage towards the end).

My clutch still grabs fine if I let the car cool off for like an hour between runs and I use Mickey Thompson ET streets.

When I let my car cool down for a long period of time it does the opposite man. What are your mods anyway? I was reading your post and I was wondering.. Seems like you've got a fast one man. You lucky ass you got an amazing clutch haha..
