Call "down" to chris88z24

My advice to you is NOT to race at LVD.

I've just confirmed that someone from a local dealer takes notice of who's racing there.

So if you do decide to race, it will be at the risk of having any part of your warranty VOIDED.

Just say...

"It wasn't me..."

They can't prove it. Take your license plate off and cover up your VIN on the front windshield when you are at the track.

EXACTLY. Where is the proof. Besides maybe the dealer was just messing with him to see what he would say. You know how dealerships work. But I bet you they would race there and have there car fixed.

car owner - "My radio quit playing cd's, can I get it fixed?"
dealership - "Weren't you at LVD last weekend, running your car?"
car owner - "Why yes, whats that have to do with my radio?"
dealership - "Who cares, we're calling it abuse and your warranty is void, hahahahahahahaha!"

Wish it weren't so, but it was.

Like I said in the other thread where I had relayed the account, I received details about what had happened (which I will not post here on this forum).

It happened ...

Man these guys are dirty. "Sure, we'll sell you a fast car! But God help you if we ever find out you drove it even once like they did in the commercials." Mitsubishi was sending guys out to autocross events, drag strips, you name it looking for Evos a little while ago. If a car is built to be fast, then driving it fast shouldn't be abuse.

Warranties are for Pussies.

I haven't used my Powertrain warranty once. Don't destroy your clutch... and you won't have to worry about anything (other than your Non-LSD Differential).

Well i'll be there Wednesday. Making passes down the track!

Without SOLID PROOF they cannot void the warranty. A quick call to GM would certainly fix this if they even tried to pull something like that on you. That's how things work.. you need PROOF, otherwise it's just one person's word against another. I doubt the guy will be there with a camera taking pictures...

WHen my car got hit, I needed proof of the wheels nad suspension being damaged by the dealer. Since the adjuster and I overlooked this right after the incident occured, I had no proof that this was done at the dealer since I took the car home after. It was one person's word against another, and guess who won? The dealer. Same thing here. With no proof they HAVE to honor the warranty. So what if a tech claims he saw a car like yours at the track. There is more than one Cobalt SS out there. Even then... clutches are only covered for 1 year or 12k, and i'm already past that. So I have nothing to lose. What are they going to do? Not fix my CD read error because I was at LVD? Puh-lease.

And that kid probably admitted to running at the track. Stupid...

Exactly. If you are so worried about this, then do just that. Even with picture evidence, all you have to do is say you were driving someone else's cobalt.

Nissan tried that on me, and I said show me proof of my car being there my tag # my VIN number and a picture of me driving it down the track. Pulled out my phone and said so do I need to file a complaint?

They said no and begun the overview. Came with a total of repairs under warranty and price for maintenance. I waited an hour.

Got my keys said well sorry changed my mind. Got to thinking about how you guys tried to accuse me of something I was not doing. Got in car and left.
