disappointed

I bought the magnaflow exhaust for my 2.2 auto, and just went to the track to see what my new time would be. The slip on the right is with just my intake on, and the slip on the left is with the intake and exhaust. I was disappointed with the time I got. I think I should have gotten a more significant decrease in time. I am #1864

Exhaust is not going to lower your time much at all.

it's not going to lower your time significantly at all... you're et is higher, not sure if it has anything to do with it, but your reaction time the 2nd time was much slower...

Actually if you just got the muffler you wont see too much more than that. And i am surprised that you even saw that much.
I have a cat back with a magnaflow muffler and i did not notice a whole lot of gainon mine.

Which one did you get and do you have any pics just curious

your also an auto so you do lose alot through the gears. really adding an exhuast just takes away the back pressure.

R/T has absolutely 0% to do with ET, and you can tell by the MPH that you arent making hardly any more power

I have the whole system from the resonator back. With my 60' going down by .03 i would expect a bigger gap down at the end of the track.

you would see more gains if you were running more power, without really any other power mods you wont see much, if any

Your .003 improvement has to do with your 3 horsepower increase! Intakes and exhaust systems make very little difference in a car that doesn't make much power to begin with! ****, it doesn't do a great deal for a car that does make good power. Save your money and buy a turbo if you want to go faster!

I took off some weight from the car like removing some of the carpeting and other useless items. But obviously the only way that will amount to anything is if you ripe the whole interior apart....which im not willing to do

with more practice im sure you can see better times. a friend of mine has a 2005 auto 2.2 coupe with just a weapon r intake and he has done 16.3 second passes and probably couldve done better. could be the temp changes too, go back when its a little colder out

Your 60fter suck. (I can't talk but I have a reason, wheel hop owns!)

You will see better times if you can cut those 60'fters.

Parts don't make the car better, drivers do. Parts can only go so far.

Your 60' was also better on your 1st time out. If you got the same on your 2nd time it would have been a little better. What kind of improvement were you expecting?

There's not much room for driver error when you're drag racing an auto. There's a little bit of technique... but for the most part you should be consistent (unless you're a total idiot).

My 1/4 times with my 2.4L auto were all around the same exact time.... even with different "launches".

get your 60's in the 2.2 area and the you will be happy. I had a 04 cavalier with chrome 18's cai and exhaust and i ran a 15.8 with a 2.3 60 ft time. Just to show you where you should be i also had a manual.

I keep it in first off the line so that the t/c is off. If i keep it on you know the engine bogs and ill deff loose a lot of time. But then i move it into drive. I do launch at about 2500. I get a little spin but not a ridiculous amount.
