First Timer...Be Supportive
I'm ashamed of you guys
OP, you had bad luck that is all.
Reaction time doesn't matter unless you are competing, most suggest waiting 2 or 3 seconds before launching. That way you won't be as pressured and be more likely to screw it up and fry your clutch. It's also a way to let everyone know you are a novice who is trying to learn.
Keep on trying man.

don't get me wrong cuz i really am not trying to be negative. all i'm saying is anyone can go WOT at any point in time without going to the strip and wasting time and money. what's the point of finding out how fast you get to the end of a 1/4 mile if you aren't even trying to push the car to its limit from start to finish? racing isn't just hitting wot for most of the time and going on a sunday stroll for some of the time, it's lining usp against another car and trying to get to the finish line first. i just don't really understand your mentality.
for me to run a 15 on the track means i missed a gear and FAILED.
but you had low 14's which beat me. i ran a 14.5 1st time on the track 1st pass ever. after that it just got worse with me missing gears but then i got a CEL on my last pass and stopped after 3 passes for the night

Damn dude!! If the person racing doesnt race their car up to YOUR top notch standards you are a ruthless D*ckhead to them IMO!! How about you just dont come into the drag racing section anymore. Not everyone likes to launch their car hard and shift as great as they can their first time out, especially those new to FWD and manual tranny cars. I seriously aint trying to be a d*ck towards you, but every thread I've been in where someone went to the track and they didnt meet or exceed their cars standards you have been nothing but negative.
i'm not saying hes bad at driving or his car sucks or anything. i think its great he brought the car out to the track. i'm just sayin, in my eyes. i wouldn't call "racing a car down the 1/4 track" when you leave at idle, baby 1st, and hit WOT midway through second
sorry that i'm an avid racer and get in to these things.
