First Timer...Be Supportive
was that with your mods?
yeah, I wouldn't know since I continually launched around 2400-2800 RPMs.

I left traction control on. I will have to practice launching in an empty parking lot or something; that way I will be able to launch when I got to the track. I would be pissed if I went to the track, tried to launch, and roasted the tires everytime. I'll try 2k rpms and let the clutch out smooth and fast.

I'm confused now, I keep hearing about LC, but I havent actually used it. What exactly does it do and how does it work? Doesnt using LC mean you have to rev up and launch at high RPM's, like too high?
But at my local 1/8 mile track I would do nothing but spin, even with feathering the clutch. I seriously only rev to like 1200-1500 at the most because the track sucks so bad. I guess next time I'll atleast try to rev to 2500 and get out of the hole faster, my best 60' time is like 2.3.
im no-one to take launching advice from lol my best is 2.3 only launched my car like 15times but from wat chrisss/sc has told me and showed me for a lsj with my mods rev to 2500rpms and feather the clutch til u feel the car grabbed then floor it .
Honestly though, I don't think LC will yield greater 60's unless if the track is prepped great. Otherwise, like it does on the street, you'll be spinning tires.
Can anyone attest to this with their LC on the track?
Do you have timeslips that show the difference between 2500 rpm launch and a LC launch?

I've been to the track and raced my car probably 10-15 times, but only on like 4 of them I actually tried and lowered my tire pressure, but I lowered it to low, to like 20psi. Out of those 4 times when I lowered my tire pressure only 2 of them I didnt spin my ass off and that resulted in 2.4 and 2.3 60's, but those are the only real times I was trying my hardest, and that was launching at around 1500 or so. And those 2 times I trapped 83.5 and 84.5mph.

I ran a 13.8 and my 1/8th mph trap as 82.5 @ 20psi on the fronts and 40 in the rear
My 1/4 mph trap was 104.4!!!
Try launching from 2400
When I first took my car to the track I was just dumping the clutch, which didnt work to well. If I honestly could get like 5 runs in with a prepped track and launching from atleast 2500, I think I could pull at 2.1 60' and run 8.7-8.8 or so in the 1/8 mile. My younger Brother who has a well modded SRT-4 runs his car almost every weekend and is used to launching a FWD car and has pulled 2.1 60' times in his car, so I think with more practice I could easily get a better 60' time, just dont have the time.
Only 84mph, what should I have trapped?? This was in the 1/8 mile, LOL!! I didnt up the pressure in my back tires though either, was running 31-32psi in the back.

my times posted were stock. I have a thread somewhere in here that was posted recently.
This is after I got tuned. Like I said, my local 1/8 track sucks alot!! There is a guy there who bracket races and he usually gets 2.0-2.1 60's and runs 9.0-9.1 and this is with slicks. He said he goes to this other 1/8 mile track up in Kentucky and cuts 1.6-1.7 60's and runs 8.4-8.5 all day long. He said expect about 1/2 second faster at any other track.

I've made probably 10-15 runs with my car, but this was with 30-35psi in all tires and not really launching, just practicing my shifts and what not. Like I said already, I've made like 4 passes with lowering the tire pressure, but not launching hard at all. I think with lowering the front to 25 or so and upping the rear to 40 or so and launching at 2500 or so and feathering the clutch I can pull 2.1's or better. Either way if I have any questions I'll hit you up, thanks!!

Whether traction control is holding me back or not I am not sure. My friend ran his Challenger with tc on some runs and without on two runs. He said he noticed a big difference and preferred to leave it turned on. Without the tc he spun the tires a lot more and was a little slower. I think the tc would probably be good for me since I am new to this.
I never used launch control either. Search youtube there are videos of it in use. What you do in launch control mode is clutch in, gas pedal to the floor, the computer holds the revs around 5k, then you dump the clutch, and hopefully you get moving instead of smoking the tires.
being that iam also new to the racing i dont know were would be best to launch. i have had succes with the launchcontrol. it will only peel out if you dump the clutch. i havnt had trouble peeling out if i dont dump the clutch. but to make sure were do you all think it is best to shift when racing?
