Interest thread for srt-4 VS cobalt day at E-town
So if we get ass raped we get ass raped... as I said, it will give the cobalt guys a reason to step up and go turbo and forget the stupid s/c. Maybe next rematch might not be the same.
Ya'll are urkin me...Watch, I'm shooting for some damn nice numbers with no nitrous and no meth, and only a 2.79" pulley. I'm gonna hit up E-Town to see how I run out there, I already know how Atco's track prep is sooo...We will see.
I'm not saying that I'll be beating some crazy fast SRT's, but I have beat a stg2 with some bolt-ons, and I raced a stg1 with a couple bolt-ons and him and I were dead even...My car's runnin a bit better now too, and I am workin on more cooling mods. Either way...Should be good times.
Who cares?? Maybe we will surprise some people with the potential and/or numbers that are cars are capable of. It doesn't matter if we do a track day with em or not, people are gonna talk **** either way. Might as well hit the track and have a good time. Maybe there won't even be a large turn-out, maybe like 2 or 3 SRT's show and they are slow as ****, maybe only like 3 Cobalts show and they run like ****, who knows.....This is for fun

also, have you ever seen an srt-4 meet? i don't think they know the meaning of "bad turnout". i bet they would drive from different states to cme to this.
Then they come from different states, ah well...Why punk out because they are gonna have faster cars, or be worried about losing?? Who knows, maybe I'll meet some cool peeps with some good ideas/suggestions on how to fix some of our traction issues or whatever. I'm all about meeting new people and having a good time.
I could care less if I win or lose, just as long as the other person is a decent sport about the whole thing. It's all just for fun, and to see what you can do as well as what kind of local competition there is. ****, if ya'll were worried about them making GM look bad or something to that effect, I could call a couple local F-bodies that would blow the doors off anything they can bring out there SRT wise. There are some SICK F-bodies out this way.
If ya'll don't want to come, then don't show up. I'll be there, hopefully I'll be put up against something comparable to how my car will be running, if not, then I get beat, wouldn't be a first, and damn sure won't be the last.

lol. Hopefully I'll have the new motor in by this event. See if I can bust out some low 11 sec 1/4's. Cause that setup should be netting me @500whp.

Finally someon porting/polishing their head...I heard our head was pretty restrictive...And we need to do something about our intake manifolds/aftercoolers
Oh yeah, working on a new manifold soon. Hopefully next weekend if I get the intake manifold flange in from gm in time. just gonna make a 3" - 3.5" log style with short runners and ditch the stock air/water setup and run a bigger fmic

I still think it would be a good time man, I don't care about heads up racing, more towards a bracket event to show off driver skill. But hey at least put 2 american cars head to head. I chill with mostly srt owners anyway, but I do gain some knowledge on what I can do to my car to improve traction and power, hence my turbo swap.
Until the Turbo swaps and "proper" builds become more popular. I think that once the turbo swaps and supporting mods for those come together, there will be many surprised people. Even the SS/SC's have more potential then what has been seen. All the youngsters driven em just don't know anything about supporting mods, they just wanna do cheap go fast mods and expect everything to fall into place.
It's rare that E-Town will ever set up an event that is just heads up.....it's usually bracket unless it's a T&T night

lol.
But yeah man, I went with a quick and cheap turbo setup just off the bat to see what it would do, and for the money I spent (which was much less than all the other s/c bullshit I did) the car is at least 2x faster and the tq #'s are rediculous.
I had always intended for this to be a bracket racing event. But in the morning for dial in test and tune, do some heads up runs for fun of course.

ok so now we are talking about bracket racing. Once again alot more srt4 are going to be on slicks makign launcing more consistent than the cobalt guys who willl most likly show up with stock tries and hop to the 330. The idea makes sense, just the wrong cars were choosen. You really should no pick the srt4, if anything pick golfs, yes there are fast oens out there but there are alot of faster srt4s. The typical golf runs what the typical ss runs. mid to high 13s. Most of them imo are chipped with tbe trapping over 100mph.
Im interested. Def set something up for next year. By then ill have 2.9, ZZP tensioner, 42#, 1 step colder plugs, ZZP header/ down, Dual pass, and H/E....o and a custom tune. I have half the shitt, just not installed.
