manual tranny shift points
depends on tires, really...
i have falken ziex 512s and i can launch at around 3500 with a little spin.. ive found its the best launch for me, though... but i also have the polyurethane mounts from ttr
with those contis and no mods, maybe around 2500

the higher the better of course....
but too much wheel spin kills time. i dont want to sit there burning rubber when the other guys already grippin the road and leavin me in the dust... unless im doing a burnout, then drop it at 6500 lol
but srsly. wheel hop kills, guys. get mounts. it makes 99% of that wheel hop go away... plus better traction IMO

Get the tranny mounts found on www.TurboTechRacing.com if you do ANY lanching off the line.
i am just curious where our peak torque and hp are on the stock 2.2.
i have stock tires so i figured if i deflate the front tires a little and drop the clutch at around 2800 or so i might be able to grip after a spin or two and then i wanted to know where i should shift at. i dont want to rev so high that i actually lose power in that gear.
any info or experience will help. thanks

Like I said above....Get the car dynoed and you will learn all you are asking. I am not just saying this. The dyno will show were the peak torque and horsepower is at. By that information, you will then know where to launch and shift at for best performance.
I just went to the track last week and slipped the clutch at like 2800 and I got a 2.1 60 foot and ran a 15.40 with a bone stock car with stock tires and I shifted at like 6250 just before redline it should work for you I live in chicago too so your time will depend on where you live also

Can't forget a shameless plug for your motor mount TTR
Cuz motor mount>trans inserts.
BUT!
Motor mounts AND trans inserts>chuck norris
all i got is a intake and exhaust and nice tires. i launch at 3000 maybe 2500 sometimes. if im just doing it for fun ill shift at 5500 rpms but if im going for time or racing ill shift at 6250ish. poly mount will help you out alot if your racing alot. i had some but i snaped one doing auto X hahahaha but if your serious about it i would dyno it like redssbalt said. good luck
