My official dragstrip thread

I'm going to be keeping a record of all my drag strip visits with my SS/TC in this thread/post as a kind of guide for anyone taking one from essentially stock to eventually fully bolted with meth injection.

Now please keep in mind that my local track, Bandimere in Denver, CO is about 5800ft above sea level and regularly has a density alititude on most days of 8000ft or more. A bone stock 2010 Camaro SS is a low 14 second car and only traps around 100mph here.

My first visit to the track - my best pass:

- GM Stage 1 Tune
- Hahn Cold Air Intake
- Conti DWS XTRM Contact - Front @ 25psi / Rear @ 40psi
- NLS used all gears / No launch control - left @ ~2500-3000rpm

60' - 2.27
330' - 6.16
1/8 - 9.26 @ 80.3
1000' - 11.89
1/4 - 14.109 @ 102.21 mph

2009 Cobalt SS Turbo GM Stage 1 1/4 Mile - YouTube

I'm going back on Sept 16th with the additional mods:
- ZZP 3" Catless DP
- ZZP Bolt-in FMIC
- Peewee footballs (Maybe)

September 16th Results:

Mods/Specs:
- Hahn CAI
- GM Stage 1
- ZZP 3" Catless DP
- ZZP Bolt-in FMIC
- Conti DWS XTRM Contact - Front @ 25psi / Rear @ 44psi
- NLS used all gears / No launch control - left @ ~2000rpm

Slip:
60' - 2.21
330' - 6.055
1/8 - 9.102
1/8 MPH - 81.29
1000' - 11.701
1/4 - 13.886 @ 103.4 MPH

2009 Cobalt SS/TC GM Stage 1 + Bolt Ons 1/4 Mile - YouTube

Unfortunately, I will not be back until spring time since the track closes for the winter before I'll be able to get my meth kit installed and get a real tune.

Going to the track this Wednesday -- decided to bolt-up the 17" drag radials.

Got my E85 tune almost dialed-in by CCSS3. Car pulls like a boss on E85. I'm hoping I can trap over 108mph and get my 60ft down to a 1.9-2.0 If I can make both those things happen, I've got 12.9 in the bag.

I had quite a few stock gas cars on 23-24 lbs get 12.5-12.8 in about 1k in elevation no issue, So id say you can easily get 12s with your power!!!

1st post is too old, can't edit it.

I need to go back with some peewee footballs. I was on 225/45/17 BFG drag radials, they hooked pretty good, but I'm confident with less weight transfer I can manage to get my 60ft down just 1 more tenth, I've got a 12.9 in the bag.

Doin work with my buddies Z28 (H/C/I):

My best pass:

DA at the track that day was 8600ft!!!

Details:

- Hahn CAI
- ZZP 3" catless DP
- ZZP Bolt-in FMIC
- HPT E85 tune @ 25psi by CCSS3
- ZZP Rotated Mounts
- 225/45/17 BFG KDW G-Force drag radials @ 15psi
- NLS used 2-3 and 3-4 / No launch control - left @ ~3000 rpm
