While there's controversial and unconfirmed reports another team went "6's" a few years back...the team is looking to set a FWD record in both MPH and E.T. and first OFFICIAL in the 6s.

Couple new pics from the weekend.

Such cage. Such go. Wow. Such Awesome. Much safe. Wow. Very cash.

My new Kirkey Racing seat sitting in the Cobalt. Not yet set, gotta raise it up about 4 inches otherwise I'll be staring at the dash instead of the track .

The mad scientist Jimmy Almany of Almany Chassis Design doing work!

Haven't done this in a while! Again, the seat will sit up a bit higher once in it's final place...kinda need to see the track .

My wing that will be going onto the car! Of course the color will change / get a wrap. Lots of parts are staring to file in!

Wing support bars and mounts.

Brand new Stroud 430 parachute that will be stopping my ass from 180mph+!

And the rest of the air launcher parachute system. This is a serious setup...I feel like John Hammond saying this...but, "Spared no expense!"

More non-sense to come soon!

Just winging it now! The wing and supports have been placed on the car and I gotta say...it looks sick! The color will be changing like previously stated before, but you get the point. Air launched parachute / mount looks like it'll be going next, Jimmy needed to see the wing in place first.

Ineed! I played around with the idea or pneumatic / spring launchers. The air launcher just felt safer and more reliable. Stroud makes badass stuff that's for sure!

*Raises beer*

Here's to 180mph+!

Farthest north we are going this year is to Maryland International Raceway in November for the World Cup Finals. Other than that...no other plans sorry. There is a race going on in Canada this summer, but I don't think we'll be able to make it.

Soon grasshopper....soon.... You know we've gotta get the tubing from the front of the roll cage plumped into the front suspension first . After that comes the fun part of engine work.

Chassis work is at about 90% and starting to come to a close with 95% of the main cage done. Finishing up the funny car cage and a few small odds and ends by the end of the week...THEN COMES THE MOTOR!

My car requires a funny car cage...does yours?

Huge THANK YOU to Jimmy Almany of Almany Chassis Design for taking on this unique project and delivering fantastic results.

I'll add some more shots later...

Here's the rest of the pictures from today's install of the funny car cage on the white cobalt. The cage as a whole is done and there's only a few things left to do, (shock tower reinforcement / down bars / bar for the fuel cell, intercooler, more goodies ).

Few photos from my visit to the car a couple of days ago. Things are looking great and we're making a push to motor work now / getting everything else involved with the powertrain ready for the white cobalt. Here's some pics from my visit!

Btw: if you want updates on this project, or the rest of the NDR Team Florida cars as soon as they happen...follow @cobalt711, @horsepowersalesofcf, & @RollermanDan on Instagram.

Motor prep!

Sitting in the "office."

Talking with Jimmy about where the parachute pull point should be placed.

Getting a feel for where things will be placed .

Thank you for viewing and check back again soon for more updates on ALL of the cars!

The Blue Hot Rod went to Bradenton Motorsports Park today for testing and had fantastic results. Utilizing the new Xtrac sequential transmission, Luciano blasted off a beautiful 7.7. Keep in mind the fastest any of the GM H/R cars have ever gone was 7.56!

What's the difference in the cobalt that went 6's and these cars. I keep seeing you say you want to be the first to go 6's there was an extol powered cobalt that did that years ago. Different class?

What FWD 4cyl Cobalt that went 6s are you talking about? To my knowledge, no FWD has ever gone 6s, ever.

Gardella never made 6s, but he did go 7.1 @ 210mph on one pass. The black car is actually his former ride and Luciano owns it now.
