Ok. I guess it is now an SS
Here's an update! Went to Thompson, Ohio and set an IHRA record in SS/CS at a 6.16 @ 110.29. Changed to Buick headed motor and went to Osceola, IN. 6.05 in SSPG-1 was good enough for 3rd qualifier. Lost in the final round of eliminations. It was a dual event. They found a cracked carb spacer between rounds and changed it without requalifying. On the first pass, after getting by the guy they're running, in true bracket fashion, he let off and ran 6.009 @ 106.11 mph! (dial in was 6.05 so they went too fast in the drag race![screw bracket racing!]) HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEKEND: voted Best Engineered of the Event by IHRA! Kudo's to Carl Lampkin of LA Automotive, Parker Engines, MJ's Graphix, Willis Garage, CW Underground, Wilson Competetion Enterprises, Leon Automotive, Michaelis Construction. 4 passes at Eddyville test and tune. 5.95, 5.95, 5.94, 5.94, ALL @ 118 mph! Now you guru's know that 118 mph should be faster than those ET's. Getting to unpredictable at gear change. The little girl will be "clutchless" the next time she comes out to play! The next "event" as of right now is in Kearney, NE the weekend of Oct. 10th. The weekend after that will be at KCIR in Kansas City, MO. See ya'all there!
You know there's 5.0 Mustangs that run 5.94 and 118 mph in your area but can only assume it's eighth and not quarter? Whatever?! It is eighth. What numbers would you expect? Just curious.

You guys must build some badass cars in the Empire State! Heck at the IHRA race in Osceola, IN, 6.05 was good enough for 3rd qualifier in SSPG-1. I think there's some left, but I don't see them finding a second! You can show me, I'm sorry but that's what we say out here, 10.5 #/cu in cars that run low 5's to high 4's with 1-4bbl and no juice?
We do this **** for fun. Why do you keep calling it an SS? It's not even a Cobalt.
Now we're getting to the bottom of it! We really don't have timeslips of these cars we just know they're fast. You were the one that thought it was slow for a "purpose built car". When did I call it an SS? The class it ran in was SS/CS but you could'a had one of those low 5 Mustangs in there if they would'a been within the rules. If it's not a Cobalt, what is it? The title sure says it's a Cobalt.
None of the parts that make it move say Cobalt on them. None of the parts they took out did either. The S/N's on the body and so's the word Cobalt. You are right though, it isn't a true SS. It's a clone! Shame on them for changing it. Rules allow for drivetrain adjustments. That was one of the "purposes".
Have a nice day!
