Possibly best 1/4 time for sedan ?
Possibly best 1/4 time for sedan ?
First run i didnt know where to launch at so i got it up to 2800rpms and let it go, and it resulted in massive wheelspin. Needless to say i got a poor 60ft of 2.9 and a laughable 16.9! Next time around i launch at 1800 and spins a tad and hooks, resulting in a 16.1@86, and a 2.5 60ft. Third run, i thought id try 1500rpms but it bogged a bit outta the hole and gave me a 16.3@85 with a 2.6 60 ft. Overall i think i have good potential to hit 15's in the future, what do yall think ? Car is completely bone ass stock, except for various gm accesories, tint, and debadged. Car weighed in at 2710 without me, and 2890 with driver. I still rollin the stock 15in hubs with the crappy ass general tires. Its a 2006 Chevy Cobalt Sedan Ls, curious to see what the coupes run with the better tires???
To the other guy who ran a 2.2 60ft but only got a 16.6, i dunno what u need to do, but according to yur 60 ft that should put you into the 15's.

That's funny, I would have never thought someone would be doing 1/4 time tracks in a sedan. To me, if your rockin it in the automatic your times are going to stay consistant. If your in the manaul there is a good chance you can touch 15's but even with bolt ons your not going to net anything below a mid 15. Good runs though, can't wait to try some runs in my SS when it gets warmer.
I'm going to assume that my automatic LT sedan is good for a 17 or a mid 16 heh. Thing has to weigh almost 300lbs more then yours with all this goody **** in it.

Not 300lbs heavier, heres what I found off Gm canadas website Now your 05 LT would be an LTZ for 06
sedan:
LS: 2780
LT: 2793
LTZ: 2905
SS: 2871
coupe
LS: 2730
LT: 2742
SS: 2815
SS S/C: 2925
Don't waste your time getting weights from Chevrolet.com---they are on crack!!!
Curb weight, estimated (lbs./kg) 2,991/1,356.7 3,216/1,458.8 BS! They don't even list the break down weights between models. No Coblat could ever weigh 3200lbs!!
I think the LTZ (or LT for 05) look kinda sharp with the chrome grill and door handles, classy. When you compare the same trim levels in coupe and sedan the weight difference is very small---hence a small difference in times.

Maybe I am missing something?

Im pretty confident i can get a 15.8 outta it stock, if i just knew how to launch it. i think my driving skills are decent cause i consitently ran 86mph. All i would need is the basic upgrades, i/h/e and some better tires and i think i can be below mid 15's. My mph shows that its at least high 15 territory...
you'll definitely be in the 15's when you learn to launch it. you don't need anything but more experience. practice slipping the clutch. a little wheel spin is ok, but the key is to have the gas pedal planted while slipping the clutch and hardly any wheel spin. that results in the best 60ft. with a definite 15 sec. pass. better tires would help also.

yea, i was confused as to why my times were so low considering my 60' times =/( i ran the 16.6 maybe ill go back for the hell of it lol its always fun to race, no matter how fast ur car is it gets ur blood pumpin
not to be joking or anything it could of been the shoes, i wore tennis shoes, i always drive barefoot or in dress shoes..... and these new balance have and inch or so soles etc, maybe the gas wasnt all the way down or what lol who knows, i cant feel the pedal real well in them.
